As the school year has come to a close, life begins to slow down for the summer. If you are like most students who will be spending the summer back on your old stomping grounds at home, you'll likely realize one thing. Being home can get boring as hell. Home will always be home, but having a lack of a routine, schedule, or responsibilities opens up a lot of free time. In order to make the most of your summer, be sure t o keep yourself busy with different activities that you might not have the opportunity to do at school.
1. Allow yourself to sleep in and relax after a long and taxing school year.
You earned it kid.
2. But also try to wake up early and make the most of your day.
3. Get out of the house and be outside as often as possible.
4. Which means taking longs walks, going to the beach, and laying in the hot sun.
5. Try to go a whole day with little to no technology.
6. Take advantage of being home from school and actually spend time with your family.
7. Reconnect with old friends and make new ones.
8. Blast the hottest songs of the summer in the car on repeat.
9. Take up a new hobby, preferably something you haven't been able to do at school.
10. See a summer blockbuster.
11. Do something different with your look.
Get a new haircut, hair color, or even get a new piercing or tattoo.
12. Go on long car rides and spontaneous road trips.
13. Go to a concert and dance like a fool.
14. Plan a vacation or a weekend getaway with your friends.
15. Try a new cooking recipe to treat your friends or family with.
16. And if or when it doesn't turn out well, go out for ice cream.
Its not a Pinterest recipe unless what you make looks nothing like the picture.
17. Read a book about something that interests you.
Reading can actually be fun if it doesn't involve a fifty year old textbook.
18. Hit up the summer sales while they're still hot.
19. Remember that you're never too old to go to a carnival.
20. Wind the day down with some de-stressing yoga.
21. Try to watch the sunrise and sunset as often as possible.
Summer reminds us that it's the little things in life.
