College is meant for exploration both inside and outside the classroom. College is the best four years of your life, so spend the little time you have wisely. But sometimes, when we get into our everyday routine of things we do, we don't even realize it. Here's a list of a few of them.
1. Complain
You literally complain about anything. You complain about everyone and everything.
2. Cry
It's normal for you to have between 1-5 crying mental break downs every month.
3. Debate whether or not food is edible
Sometimes you've had food sitting in your apartment/dorm room for sometime and a part of you really wants to eat it, but the swarm of fruit flies says otherwise.
4. Find random places to sleep
Since we're in college, we're always sleep deprived. You've accustomed yourself to sleeping sitting up in class, in the corner of the library, in someone else's room or even in the dining hall.
4. Re-watch "Friends"
You've taken Netflix and chill to a whole new level and "Friends" will never upset you, no matter how many times you watch it.
5. Decide cleaning is more important than homework
Having a clean room once in a blue moon is better than doing homework, right?
6. Clothing standards drop to a zero after syllabus week
You look super great the first week of class, but after that people actually question if you live in a box on the side of the road or not.
7. Sweatpants is a necessity
As students, walking all over campus can be annoying, so doing that in a comfy way, especially with pockets, makes life easier.
8. We spend so much money on things we don't need
You know that horse mask that was for $5 at Walmart? Yeah, you bought that. Can you explain why? No, it just looks cool.
9. We develop better time management skills (some of us)
As we progress through college, our procrastination and time management skills have improved. Who am I kidding? I still struggle with both on a daily basis.
10. We assume everyone knows what you're talking about
You start a conversation and half the time the person you're talking to has a question mark on their face.
11. You reference things from home to people who are from different areas
You always seem to find yourself talking about things from your hometown that no one is ever going to understand besides you since there's about zip to no one that is actually from the some area as you.
12. There are some people that tell you that you have an accent
You can hear the accents of other people from different states but somehow can't figure out how people tell you that you have an accent; you don't believe them.
13. You don't go to class
Skipping class and staying snuggled up in your bed seem much more enjoyable than actually getting up and going.
14. We over pack when we go on trips or go home for breaks
Go home for a weekend? You pack at least a week worth of outfits and five pairs of shoes.
15. We find ways to avoid paying the full price for a textbook
We always try to beat around the bush; paying that full price really hurts our bank account. So going on websites or borrowing a book from someone seems way more ideal.
16. We spend more time in the library socializing than doing work
Catching up with friends is way more fun than typing up that five page philosophy paper that's due the next day.
17. FREE ANYTHING means I'll be there
We're all broke college students so hearing or seeing the words free is like Christmas.
18. Pulling all nighter's
If you haven't pulled an all nighter, are you really in college?
19. Going to any campus event
While were in college we might as well participate in any campus event and spread as much school spirt as possible.
20. You go to athletic events to either actually watch the game, avoid life, or hangout with friends
Going to go watch a game is always fun! You get to see your friends play and cheer them on, or you can avoid doing anything for 2 hours, and you know that you will be around the comfort of your friends.
21. We carry phone chargers around with us
Our phones could die any moment so carrying a charger around with us is only safe. If you can find an outlet somewhere, you're golden.
22. You realize how much you miss your childhood things
Now that were in our 20s, we seem to feel nostalgia over our past childhood. We miss the old Nickelodeon, refuse to stop acting out like a child, and get overly excited over the smallest of things.
23. You can finally be your own person and not conform to others
Now that you're in college, you're free to be you. Your past is in the past, don't change for anyone else. Be you and continue each and everyday striving for greatness.
