Mock trial. The activity we live for or the bane of our existence. Are you a former mocker or a current mock star? Find out with 21 Signs You Did Mock Trial.

Mock on.

1. You have to explain what Mock Trial is to anyone not in Mock Trial.

"What's mock trial?" "It's like LARPing for lawyers." "What's LARPing?"

2. You waste too many post its on aggressive notes during trial

3. No matter how hard you try, you will never understand how to argue more prejudicial than probative.

4. You can't help but watch Law and Order and silently pick out all the objections that would happen in real life.

5. You only remember former mockers by the characters they played in previous cases.

6. You shamelessly wear the same suit 3 days in row during Mock Trial competitions

7. You are slightly offended every time you are redirected towards the American Massage Therapy Association website.

8. You understand having a former mocker as a judge at a tournament is a blessing and a cure at the same time.

At least it's not an 1L.

9. Listening to judges comments post-trial like...

10. When you're lost on the way to the tournament, you just follow the hoards of people in suits carrying case boxes.

11. You love being the witness who goes off rambling about something random, like how your three legged dog played a full house during poker last night.

12. You cringe at the phrases "I'll allow it for now" or "I'll give opposing counsel some leeway here"

13. You feel intimidated AF when you see an all female table.

14. You understand that the timekeeper is what makes or breaks your round.

15. You feel shame when you don't have a follow up response to the objection battle

16. But you feel awesome when you do

17. You look at the judge when answering every question.

18. You know what CS, PD, ORCs, and Nats stand for.

19. When you know the judge loves character witnesses

20. You do not want to go to law school and hate law, but you do mock trial anyway

21. But you wouldn't give up mock trial for anything.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
