22 Reasons To Be Single At 22

Everyone says 21 is the best age now that you can get into any bar/buy alcohol/do anything you want basically, but being 22 is a whole new world. The initial thrill of being 21 has died down (definitely not gone, but definitely not as severe), you're probably out of college (and freaking out), and need to be really confident about what you're doing with your life. There's a thousand reasons to be single at any age, but here's 22 reasons why you should definitely be single at 22.

1. You can flirt with anyone you want with no strings attached and not feel guilty about potentially cheating on anyone.

2. You don't have to desperately carry your phone around/constantly check to see if someone texted you.

3. You don't have to ask anyone for "permission" to do something/go somewhere; the only ball and chain you should have (if even this much) is your parents.

4. You can have as many guy friends as you want because to be honest no boyfriend likes when his girlfriend is "best friends" with a guy.

5. You don't have to consult a guy about your choice of food.

6. And can stuff your face without judgement.

7. Your entire love life can be based on the "no expectations, no disappointments" rule because you aren't worried about anyone but yourself.

8. You can go on Tinder/Bumble and goof on guys or seriously see what's out there without feeling guilty.

9. You can make carefree decisions without having to tell your friends you have a date with your boyfriends and in result have everyone hate you.

10. If you don't have a boyfriend, you won't worry about being that girl who has nothing else to talk about but their significant other.

11. No one can yell at your for getting too drunk/going out too much/being too friendly (again with the guilt thing).

12. You don't have any one person you have to obsess/worry about constantly but yourself.

13. The fear of being cheated on is non existent.

14. You don't have to awkwardly introduce anyone to your parents/friends and worry about their impressions of said person.

15. You don't have to check in with any one person... seeing girls run out of the bar to answer their boyfriend's call just to say they're alive is the weirdest thing ever.

16. We're in a critical age where we could be forced to move for a job/accept a job away from home, so why date so so seriously if you could be leaving home tomorrow?

17. You can post as many selfies/solo shots as you want without having a guy trolling you saying you're just an attention seeker.

18. You can go on a different date every night of the week if you really wanted to (a little excessive, but still a possibility).

19. You can learn from the mistakes of your friends who are wasting their precious single-time in relationships instead of making the mistakes on your own right away.

20. The probability of fighting over the stupidest things for no reason is very small considering (as previously mentioned 1,000 times) you don't have anyone who's in control of you.

21. You have all the time in the world to spend on yourself, family, and friends, which you may not get as much as ever again.

22. Which directly correlates to being so much more fun: being single at a young age means you're capable of having so much more fun than anyone tied down right now, so embrace being single instead of worrying that you're not in a relationship.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
