22 Things I Have Realized Going From The Dorms To Off Campus With My Roommate

From the first day of freshman year, my roommate and I got along great. We grew closer and closer as the second semester of our freshman year approached. Now, finishing sophomore year, we have grew a different relationship. What's mine is hers. What's hers is mine. I have grown to know that our relationship is not determined by hearts and emojis saying "I love you BFF, best roommate ever!!", but by saying "get out before I hit you." She gets me. I get her. The sarcasm will only grow, the hate will grow fonder like the heart. At the end of the day, we signed a lease together, chose to live on the same floor of the house together, and even have our rooms next to each other. Obsessed? Ew..maybe, yes. So, that is why we are even living in a house together next year as juniors. As we don't already share every thing around us, and I mean everything, this separation will not change one thing. Two feet away from each other is pretty far, but we can handle. Any pair of roommate who have been able to deal with each other for this long will be able to relate. From leaving to dorms to moving into a house I have realized things will change, but will they really? Not one bit.

1. Your personal bedroom is still my room, even if I have my own.

2. Because our schedules will be different, our daily time spent together won't change.

3. I realize you will still wear all of my clothes every day.

4. Although you are next door, you are still in 24/7 contact with me.

5. I will probably still take all of your food, I don't care.

6. Even though you will have a car, you're probably going to take mine places...

7. We will take each others alcohol..

8. And money...

9. And chargers...

10. And take each others lives while we are at it.

11. When you don't sleep in your bed, it becomes my own.

12. And I will drunkingly still spill food in your bed..

13. No longer roommates? We still don't know personal space.

14. Why make it to our rooms, we will have a couch to share.

15. We can be ratchet behind closed doors now (dorm life).

16. Roommates or not, I still hate you.

17. Getting to the neighbors even if we already know them.

18. You will come with me to do my laundry downstairs, just like you did in the dorms.

19. If we thought we were "cool" in the dorms, wait for the house...

20. We were reminded this for the past two years, why would it stop?

21. We were typical dorm living kids... we will be the typical college off campus kids...

But better...

22. Roommates on campus or off, I have come to the main realization of it all... you're stuck with me b*tch.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
