21 Thoughts Every ACU Student Has About Chapel
Two Birds One Stone Wedding

Of all the joys that occur on the Abilene Christian Univeristy campus, one of the most interesting and sometimes dreading humps to get across is chapel. Perhaps, it's not the idea of going to a place to worship God that makes people roll their eyes everytime they hear "The Lord Reigns" amplified over the microphone. Maybe its just the idea of having to physically sit in an auditorium for 30 minutes that makes people dread the chimes of the Chapel bells.

Here are 21 thoughts every Wildcat feels when going to Chapel:

1. Omg! It's 10:30 a.m. and I still have to go to Chapel.

2. Why are the freshman sprinting to the doors of Moody?

3. Urg, I just want to go home and take a nap before my noon class.

4. Crap! It's 10:55am. Ruun!!

5. Swip, swipe, swipe.

6. Should I sit at the bottom or the top?

7. Oh wait, there's my friend!

8. Excuse me, pardon me, coming through.

9. Finally, I have my seat.

10. "Hey guys, what's up". Wait, I can't hear you.

11. Now, we have to stand up. *The Lord Reigns*

12. Why do we keep singing these OLD songs?

13. Why can't we just have some instruments to wake us up?

14. Oh look, there's that one late person sliding in.

15. Annnnddd, now he left. Great.

16. *Please be seated*

17. Another guest speaker trying to tell us how to live out lives better.

18. Oh wait, he does have a point there.

19. Okay. Maybe this guy isn't so bad.

20. *You are dismissed*

21. Get outta the wayyy!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
