21 Life Lessons That G-Eazy Taught Me
G-Eazy

If anyone knows me personally, or really anyone that has ever seen me drive with the windows down, working out at the gym, etc., then he or she will know that I listen to rap religiously. Eminem is my idol, but let's just be honest - G-Eazy is the coldest white rapper in the game since the one with the bleached hair (see what I did there? Punny, I know). "I Mean It" by G-Eazy is my go-to song for any mood or occasion, and yes, I know every single word by heart. I don't even need the music to remind me of what comes next. With that being said, G-Eazy's songs have taught me a lot about life and how competitive it can be with those in the same interest or career field. When I listen to his most recent album, "When It's Dark Out," I feel invincible and motivated to go out and not just rap to my heart's content, but also achieve personal goals to help reach my long-term ambitions. Therefore, here are some of the life lessons that G-Eazy has taught me, and maybe it'll help you out with whatever tension and stress you're feeling contemporarily.

1.) You don’t need someone to be successful.

2.) Stay away from fake friends.

3.) Self-motivation and strong work ethic are the two keys to conquering ambitions.

4.) Don’t pay attention to what anyone else has to say about your lifestyle.

5.) You can always count on yourself.

6.) Do whatever makes you happy.

7.) Your past does not define you or your future.

8.) Follow your dreams – no matter what.

10.) Don’t make excuses.

11.) You can’t automatically start at the top. You have to climb the ladder to be prosperous.

12.) Travel the world.

13.) It’s okay to miss someone and show emotion.

14.) It’s also okay to let someone go that you once cared about.

15.) Be nice to everyone, especially strangers.

16.) Money does not define a person’s character.

17.) You can’t take shortcuts to achieve hard goals.

18.) Have confidence in everything you do.

19.) Everything in this life will be OK.

20.) Don’t stress about irrelevant people and objects.

21.) If you say something, then mean it, and make your words turn into actions.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
