For the past several decades, our world has turned to comedic relief for some of the most serious and tragic moments in history. This year more than ever, Instagram meme accounts and satirical Twitter personalities have taken off.

Tagging my friends in memes on Instagram and seeing the Tweets my coworkers share on a daily basis has been a welcome, fresh take on the horrors and anxieties of our reality. Election fatigue is real for Americans according to the Pew Research Center. Our timelines are filled with hilarious election fatigue content, and these are some of the best memes we've been seeing.

Before Taylor Swift's transition from a country/pop sweetheart to a crazed vengeful victim, I was a huge fan of hers. I've been listening to her music for as long as I can remember.

Maybe she does this so she can look back on these songs and remember how old she was when she had these experiences. Or maybe she does it so her fans have another level to relate to her on. For at least my past seven birthdays, I've checked to see if Taylor Swift mentioned my new age in one of her songs.

Parents and teachers have said things like: "you're such an old soul" or "you're wise beyond your years," and all I know is that I don't seem to fit into my generation. Recently, there has been a lot of controversy as to whether or not my generation is lazy and unappreciative. While I do not think this is totally true, I do have a problem with the way many people my age present themselves in society. This being said, I am not sure if I am more upset with my generation or the group of people I have been forced to be associated with during this time of adolescence; for if things change when we enter the next phase of life, I might feel differently about "my generation".
