In no particular order, here is a list of 16 things that came into my life in 2016, and I never want them to leave!

1. Ghana (obviously)

I have been saying, "2016 was kind of boring. Except I went to Ghana.. that was cool." How could I not consider Ghana to be the most amazing thing that happened in 2016, if not my life! Traveling to Ghana for 3 weeks this summer brought me new friends, lifestyle changes, and eye opening memories. In case you have no heard me talk enough about Ghana, here is a link to my articles about the trip.

2. Devon and Holly

2016 brought me a new roommate, and two of the most adorable, kind hearted, hilarious, and care free best friends a girl could ask for. Straight from Downingtown PA, these two lovely ladies randomly walked into my life, and I am incredibly thankful.

Enter as strangers, leave as friends.

3. My white Converse

Classic, comfortable.

4. Dages

UDage? We do. At The University of Delaware, Day parties are all the rage. Dressing up fancy, and walking the town in cardigan sweaters and boots with your friends is the best way to spend a Saturday.

5. Albi

Albi is my best friend Sam's great friend from school. He is from Brazil and was studying in Boston. Last year he was a senior, and Sam was lucky enough to meet him. He his funny, sweet, and a great friend to Sam. She is currently visiting him in Brazil! I was so lucky to meet him last summer. He has a personality that makes you friends off the bat.

6. Mangos

I used to hate them, but after going to Ghana, I now eat them all the time!

7. My Pihpi Angels

This year I became a member of the founding class of Pi Beta Phi at UD. Getting the opportunity to develop the chapter alongside some lifelong friends has been a great opportunity and I am so excited to see what's to come! (Can you spot me?)

8. Insomnia Cookies

\

I have the best job in the world as an Insomnia Cookie's marketing rep. I get to give out free cookies all the time. And the cookies, always warm and gooey, are ADDICTING. Over winter break, my co-rep, Tiffany, and me have been going through withdraw. Insomnia cookies are amazing.

9. My Bean Boots

Alright, alright. I'm not going to lie I am obsessed with shoes and a little materialistic, a little basic.... but.... My bean boots from L.L Bean have been my best friend this year. The ultimate all weather shoe and so cute too!

10. My friends' dogs

Since I don't have my own I like to just give all my love to other people's dogs. Two of my good friends at home just got puppies so thats amazing. I like to just pretend they're all mine. I can't wait to get my own dog someday!

11. Snap Pizza

The new customizable pizza place in Newark is GOD-LY. I always get the same thing because I get too scared to try something new. But there are millions of options and combos to choose from and, in my opinion, its the first quality pizza in Newark.

12. New Music Fridays

On Spotify there is a playlist called "New Music Friday" that they update every week. I love it because it's a great way to get ahead on the upcoming hits as well as freshen up your music for the week.

13. Prynt

Prynt is a super cool polaroid phone case that allows you to print polaroids from your phone. I was able to try it out for the company last summer and its a fun way to remember good times!

14. House, Jane, and Stranger Things

Three very different shows, but all a favorite. I finally finished the show House that I have been working on forever. If you like shows about diseases or anything medical you should watch. I liked the ending and i recommend! Jane the Virgin, a show about a girl who gets artificially inseminated is a hilarious show with lots of drama to keep you on edge. It's based like a telenovela. Stranger Things is a Sci-Fi Netflix show that has a second season coming out in January. Spooky, but makes you think.

15. GamePigeon

I am painfully addicted to the GamePigeon games on iPhone. My personal fave is word hunt but I don't discriminate. If you ever challenge me I will answer immediately because I have no life and it is so addicting.

16. All the friends who have been there along the way :)

Not much to say about this one... you know who you are :)

Cheers to a great 2016 despite some sad things happening in the world... let's make 2017 better!!!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
