Many football fans and non-football fans look forward to the Super Bowl every year for a variety of reasons. Whether it be the actual football and being a fan of one of the two football teams, or both, playing in the Super Bowl, or just being fan of the outstanding and funny commercials that are played, or maybe even just loving the delicious food served at Super Bowl parties, there is something to look forward to for everyone. I personally am I fan of some of the football, most of the commercials, and all of the food! So I decided to compile a list of the top snacks and dishes to serve at any Super Bowl party.
1. Sliders: You can't go wrong here. Not only are sliders cute and bite size, but they are easy to make and there are countless ways to prepare gourmet sliders. Whether it be pulled pork, shrimp, turkey, buffalo chicken, or even fish, sliders can be prepared easily for large enjoyment.
2. Dip: Three words here: buffalo chicken dip. A classic that is always craved and enjoyed by all at a party. If something different is on the brain, there are many other dip options to try such as unique salsas, chili queso, beer cheese, or even Mexican shrimp cocktail.
3. Pizza pockets: I got this idea a couple of years ago when I hosted a Super Bowl party. This is the perfect bite-size finger food that is easy to make for a large group. Buy some make-your-own pizza crust at the store, cut it into triangles, and stuff whatever pizza toppings you want into the triangle pockets, then enjoy!!
4. Chili: There is such a variety of chili dishes to make these days, it is hard to go wrong. Some classics are red beef chili, but some new variations of the classic include white chicken chili, Mexican chili, or even spaghetti or turkey chili.
5. Pretzel bites: Perfect snack for the big game. Look up a basic pretzel bite recipe online, or buy them at a local store, and pair with a variety of dips. Some the best dips for the bites are cheese dip, cinnamon butter dip, or even spicy mustard dip.
6. Football-shaped deserts: After all of the delicious and savory appetizers are devoured, it is time for the sweets to be consumed. Make any type of sweet and shape it or decorate it like a football! Seems simple, but it can turn any basic desert into a Super Bowl favorite. Try it with brownies, cupcakes, cookie cakes, rice crispy treats, or even cake pops.
No matter what recipe is cooking for Super Bowl Sunday, give some online food websites and blogs a look for variations and ideas of the classic and basic dishes to give them a twist. Whether it is sweet or savory, having a variety is the ultimate way to make sure every person's taste buds are enjoying the food.
