I have never liked Halloween. Crippling social anxiety and knocking strangers' doors asking for candy for hours on end are not the greatest mix. Also, I'm a huge procrastinator, so costumes are either last-minute or nonexistent for me. Furthermore, I have really sensitive teeth so eating chocolate is rough. Lastly, I just really really really hate being scared. I think the gist has been sufficiently 'gotten.' This past weekend was what the youths these days call "Halloweekend", or the weekend during which Halloween is actually celebrated, and here are 20 thoughts I had during this year's spooky festivities.
1. Oh wow, I love October so much. All the fall foliage and cool weather and sweaters...
2. Wait, October means...
3. UGH HALLOWEEN
4. Everyone knows that Halloween= increased crime rates so I should just stay inside
5. Also I don't feel like making a costume so I should just stay inside.
6. Also, no one invited me to a Halloween party so I should just stay inside.
7. Candy corn is the only good thing about Halloween, tbh.
8. The internet is now flooded with articles bashing candy corn, the only thing I love.
9. Why is it so loud outside?
10. The hall smells like hairspray, vodka, and desperation
11. Wow, what a great title for my autobiography!
12. Okay fine, maybe I'll get into the spirit a little bit.
13. Let's watch a scary movie.
14. I've never seen "The Exorcist". That sounds like a light watch.
15. Honestly why is this girl possessed by a demon so relatable?
16. Why do I see so much of myself in her?
17. Why have I said some of these same lines?
18. I need to turn this off right now because this similarity is freaking me out more than the projectile vomiting.
19. Honestly, going to bed at 9 pm is a great way to celebrate.
20. How many days until Thanksgiving again??
