Going to a Christian university is chalk full of fun things to do and people to meet. Around the middle of the year, you tend to notice some similarities and stereotypes. You know you go to a Christian University when these things happen.

1. At least 75 percent of people in a room will have a Bible in their backpack.

2. He>I stickers cover the laptops.

Available on Redbubble.com, these stickers are super popular among Christians. They cover cars, laptops, and Hydroflasks.

3. Almost every professor starts a powerpoint with a Bible Verse.

Some even have Christian music as a sound effect. It's a good way to start a really boring lecture.

4. Your closet is filled with mission trip shirts.

Fun games with the people you love, and free food? Count me in.

6. Cute coffee and Bible pictures litter your Instagram feed.

Bible journaling has taken the Christian world by storm and it's not uncommon to find water colors and a Bible in someone's purse or dorm.

7. Everyone goes crazy when a good Christian song comes on.

You know it's really good when it gives you chills.

8. Hillsong. Nuff said.

If you haven't been to a concert by Hillsong you are missing out my friend.

9. Everyone always asks how they can pray for you.

It's nice to always have someone there, to listen, pray, and help.

10. You always see Bible verse tattoos.

It's always fun to learn the story behind each tattoo and what it means to the person it's on.

11. Bible studies are common.

Always at coffee shops. Coffee and Jesus, that's how we do it.

12. Ring by Spring mentality.

Not all, but a lot get engaged within the first year of college. It's crazy but cute and fun to see that true love really does exist.

13. You know people who haven't had their first kiss yet.

Honestly we are still young and have all our lives to be kissing. Don't be ashamed.

14. Jesus is always a topic of conversation.

Nothing like having deep and meaningful conversations about the one and only Jesus.

15. There's always someone who asks to bless the meal before you eat.

It's hard to remember when your starving and just want to dig in, but I mean Jesus was nailed to a cross for us and died so waiting a few seconds before eating isn't too hard I guess.

16. No boys/girls in opposite sex bedrooms.

Pretty self-explanatory. We're human. Our flesh has needs and temptations.

17. Your professor asks if he/she can pray for the class.

Which could be either a good thing or bad thing.

19. "Are you going to church?" Is anpart of your regular Sunday routine.

Only time you'll see college students up early on the weekend.

20. "What church do you go to?" Is a common question.

It's one of those main questions you ask someone when you first meet them.

Those are some of the most popular things one would find walking into a Christian University. A little reminder, though, that just because we seem like we are trying to be “perfect” or as if we are “trying to live in God’s image” don’t be fooled cause we are full blown sinners. Just sinners dancing in God’s unconditional love for us.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
