There is a stigma in today's culture that makes it seems like women have an unattainable list of things they look for in a guy, but really we just want someone who can make us laugh, who loves us well and who makes us feel special.

Here are the things that girls really look for in a man.

1. Someone who is a man, not a boy.

Girls want someone who is mature. We don't have time to play games!

2. Someone who not only treats her with respect, but a man that treats all people with respect.

Girls love a guy who treats all people with respect and kindness!

3. A man who makes her laugh.

This is a big thing girls look for! it doesn't matter if you have a crazy hilarious sense of humor or a nerdy one, as long as you make your girl laugh!

4. A man who has goals and dreams and goes after them.

We want a man who wants to be successful. We don't care if you want to be a teacher, a doctor or a trash man, as long as you reach your goal.

5. Someone who doesn't pressure her into anything.

Girls never want to be forced into doing anything!

6. A man that randomly surprises her with cute notes.

We don't care about extravagant gifts, girls just want to feel loved! So buy them flowers every once in a while and leave a cute note on her car and you will make them feel like that most important girl in the world!

7. A man that acts the same in front of his friends and his girlfriend.

This is a rarity and girls appreciate this more than you know.

8. A man that loves his family.

Want to win a girls heart?! Girls love a guy who loves his family.

9. Someone that makes her feel special.

Tell her the things you like about her, always build her up and never tear her down!

10. A man that is always there for her.

Girls love having a constant in their lives, so always answer her phone calls and make her feel loved and supported!

11. A man that is humble and does not boast.

Girls hate guys that brag! Don't be that guy.

12. Someone that has a heart for others.

Girls like a man with a big, caring heart. If you want that girl's heart, walk an old lady across the street, volunteer, do anything to show her that you want to make the world a better place.

13. Someone that does not judge or condemn.

Girls hate feeling judged, so never assume anything about anyone.

14. A man that puts others in front of himself.

Be a man that doesn't only think about himself, but be the guy who thinks about others first.

15. A gentleman (open the door for her, guys!).

Prove to her that chivalry is not dead!!

16. Someone who can admit when they are wrong.

This may be the hardest thing to do, but it is one of the most important things.

17. A man that can be a friend.

You know what people say, the best relationships begin as friendships.

18. A man that will never make you question or doubt yourself.

Girls want to feel secure not only about themselves, but the relationship they are in. So try your hardest not to say anything that will make her feel insecure.

19. A man that is a hard worker.

One of the most attractive things to a girl is a hardworking guy! We don't want a lazy boy who just sits on the couch all day playing video games!

20. Someone who is gracious.

...not only toward the girl he is dating, but everyone in his life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
