There is so much to do and see in Atlanta. It is full of places of arts and culture, good food and sports. You can find just about anything you want in Downtown Atlanta. There are places to take the family as well as a good night life scene. There is something for everyone. Whether you want to see a show or concert, have a place to spend an afternoon, a place to walk around or play and there are hundreds of great places to eat. It doesn't matter if you are a tourist or an Atlanta native, there is always something to do here.

1. See a show at the Fox Theatre

You literally get to walk in on the a red carpet. The historic Fox Theatre is a great place to see musicals, concerts and on occasion, a movie.

2. Visit the World of Coke

The World of Coke is one of those places that if you are from Georgia, you have probably been to on at least one field trip in your life. But it is a pretty cool place to go. There is a place inside where you can taste all different types of Coke products from around the world - hence the name, World of Coke.

3. Eat at the Hard Rock Cafe

While the Hard Rock Cafe has locations all over the United States, it is still a cool place to go. There are things at the Atlanta location that are unique to Atlanta. Not to mention, the food is great.

4. Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium is one of the largest in the world. It is a tourist hotspot, but it is still pretty cool to go see some of the fish and the dolphins. The sharks I could personally live without.

5. Go to a Braves game

With the Braves getting their new stadium in 2017, there is a very limited time to go see a Braves game at Turner Field. But the overall atmosphere should be the same in the new stadium. Braves fans are loyal to their team; even during a bad season, the fans are still there rooting them on.

6. Eat at the Varsity

"What'll ya have!" The Varsity is an Atlanta landmark. It is a staple part of being from Atlanta. You won't be sticking to your diet, but the chili dogs and onion rings are worth it.

7. Hang out at Centennial Olympic Park

It is a great place to go in the summer time. There is a little water park for kids to play in called the fountain of rings. And in the winter, there is an ice skating rink and the park transforms into a winter wonderland throughout the holiday season.

8. Take a ride on the Ferris wheel

One of the newer attractions in Atlanta, it is located downtown right next to, or better yet, above Centennial Park.

9. Tour the CNN Center

There is more than just news going on inside here. Along with the news rooms, there is a wide variety of restaurants and even some places to shop. The most surprising attribute is the hotel located inside. So if you ever need a place to stay in town, check out the CNN Center.

10. Go to Six Flags over Georgia

Who doesn't love roller coasters? The crowds are unreal, but the rides are fun!

11. See some animals at Zoo Atlanta

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! There are animals from around the world that reside in the zoo.

12. Visit the College Football Hall of Fame

For all the football fans out there, this is a great place for you!

13. Walk the Beltline

While this is still a new addition to Atlanta, it is a series of multi-use trails that are good for walking, biking, running or any way of getting around. It is still in development, but still a good place to hang out and get active.

14. Spend an afternoon in Piedmont Park

There are a lot of events going on in Piedmont Park. Summer is a big time for concerts and farmers markets in the warmer months, as well as sports fields, fishing spots and a dog park. There is plenty to do if you want to.

15. High Museum of Art

The High Museum is located in Midtown and is known as the leading art museum in the Southeast. If you are a fan of art this is a perfect place for you.

16. Do some shopping down at Atlantic Station

There are shops for everyone here. Whether you are looking for name brand shops or little boutiques, you can find them here.

17. Have lunch or dinner at The Sundial Room at the top of the Westin Hotel

Not only are you guaranteed a breathtaking view of the Atlanta skyline, but you are going to get an amazing meal. You will get to see Atlanta from all angles as the room spins slowly around.

18. See a performance of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra speaks for itself. The ensemble performs at the Atlanta Symphony Hall located in the heart of the Woodruff Arts Center.

19. Wander around the Atlanta Botanical Garden

There are so many things to see in the 30-acre garden. Around the holidays, they do an incredible lights show that is a must-see!

20. See a show at the Alliance Theatre

If there is nothing that catches your attention at the Fox, the Alliance Theatre is another good option to see a show in the city. Every year they put on a great performance of A Christmas Carol.

No matter what part of the city you are in you are guaranteed to have a good place to eat, a fun place to go or a great show to see. That is the great thing about Atlanta, there is literally something for everyone!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
