20 Must-Stop Places In Broad Ripple

Broad Ripple is a hot spot that evokes the "college town" vibe. The strip is filled with great food, shopping, and more attractions that visitors and regulars are drawn to.

Bars

1. Brothers Bar and Grill

With bar food and deals on drinks, Brothers is a prime location for day time meals and night life.

2. Kilroy’s Bar n’ Grill

Unless you are 21 or accompanied by an adult this bar/restaurant is a no go. Regardless, still a popular spot.

3. HopCat

New to Broad Ripple; with a prime location, this bar quickly gained momentum to become a staple.

Food

4. Thr3e Wise Men

Part of the fantastic Scotty’s restaurants, Thr3e Wise Men is very popular for its brewing and variety of beers, but the food is just as good.

5. La Piedad

Although La Piedad is not directly on the main street of Broad Ripple, this Mexican food (and margs) is a must.

6. Ripple Bagel Deli

With a menu that you could read for hours, you are no doubt going to walk out with one fantastic bagel with a funky name (I’m personally a big fan of the Eggs McMahon).

7. Fire By The Monon

Also not on the main street, but for a step up from casual dining, this restaurant is perfect and so are the onion rings.

8. Boogie Burger

Sometimes you just need a good, old fashion American burger and this is the place.

9. Public Greens Urban Kitchen

This stop is part of The Patachou restaurants with a spin. All of the profits are donated in efforts to feed children via The Patachou Foundation (publicgreensurbankitchen.com).

10. The Garden Table

If you are health conscious and looking for something completely different, this is the spot for you. I purchased this cold pressed juice today and although I almost shed a tear handing over my debt card (these are $8.72) it was worth it and now I feel I will be healthy for a solid week at least.

11. Union Jacks

Somewhat of an underrated restaurant of Broad Ripple, but with a unique vibe, decor, and good food, it should be on the list to try.

Pizza

12. Bazbeaux

I am slightly bias in the pizza department (I live very close to Chicago), but for funky pizza combos, Bazbeaux is the place.

Shopping

13. Pitaya

Cute, affordable, and very well organized (so anyone who panics within Forever 21, like myself, might like this store's soothing atmosphere).

14. Niche Boutique

Slightly higher end and as a broke college student (broker now that I bought that juice) I don’t shop here much, but it is one of my favorites to window shop at.

15. Lucky B

Another shopping staple with lots of variety.

Music

16. Indy CD and Vinyl

For all the music lovers out there!

Coffee

17. Hubbard and Cravens Coffee

Even though I am “basic” I think Starbucks is completely overrated and these coffee places are the definite stop in Broad Ripple.

18. Monon Coffee Company

With a little more of a hip vibe, the atmosphere is welcoming and the drinks are even better.

Sweets

19. Nicey Treat

Everyone still loves popsicles and these homemade, natural, and creative flavored treats will give you your popsicle fix. I never thought a coconut popsicle could be so life changing.

20. Brics (Broad Ripple Ice Cream Station)

Forget chain ice cream stores, Brics is the way to go.

Broad Ripple has such a variety to offer and it is no wonder regulars and visitors love it all the same.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
