Growing up around Atlanta, Chick-Fil-A is a staple to your weekly (sometimes daily) diet. It is easy to get addicted to that freshly brewed tea, crisp waffle fries, and the juicy chicken. I am getting hungry just thinking about it. Addition sometimes has no cure, but in this case, it needs no cure. There are many signs that point to your addition, and sometimes you do not even notice it is an addiction. There is so CFAA meetings you can go to (Chick-Fil-A Anonymous), but if there was I would be the president.
1. You are an A-Lister
If you know what an A-lister is you are beginning your addiction, but if you have received the shiny grey card in the mail it has become real. The company sees you are an addict, so you need to see it too.
2. The employees know your order before you even say it
You walk up to the counter and you just pay them the amount you have even memorized. No one has to even question it because you get the same thing every day.
3. You know when someone is new
And if you are a true loyal guest you talk to the other employees about how new they are. Sometimes even give them a complicated order to watch them squirm. (fruit cup: only oranges)4. You KNOW how to put in the order
“Can I get a cookie parfait with the5. The employees know YOUR name
You walk in and they start asking about “how are your kids? How’s your mom? Did you get that job?” You are no longer a guest, you have become family. Which was Mr. Cathy’s goal.6. You know everything on the menu by number
It is a blessing and a curse, especially when the numbers change from different locations.
7. Sunday is the longest day of the week
It goes without fail you crave Chick-fil-A for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then you have to settle for Zaxby’s.
8. Mondays are FUNDAYS now!!!
Because you know it is the first day of the week you can eat that glorious chicken sandwich.
9. You hoard your favorite sauces
And cry when they change (*cough, cough* smokehouse barbecue).
10. It breaks your heart to hear about people who have never had Chick-fil-A
11. You have camped out at a store opening
And you really are addicted if 52 meals still are not enough.
12. Feeling sick?
All you ask for is their chicken soup (extra saltines, please).
13. Now you use the mobile order instead of drive thru or carryout.
You know how much longer it takes to order. Plus, the more you use your app the closer you are to getting a TREAT!
14. You have owned almost every calendar
Only $6 for a calendar and over $30 worth of free items throughout the year. It’s like getting your birthday treat every month! And all your friends know what they are getting for Christmas (hint: it is only $6 and involves inventive and creative cows).
15. You are prepared for EVERY cow appreciation day
You plan out your costume a month in advance and tell all your friends about it. You also plan the best time to go so it will not be as busy, figure out the store that has the least amount of traffic, and ALWAYS get a picture with the cow. (or baby cow).
16. You love when they send out the iPads
The drive-thru becomes so much quicker!! Of course, most people ask the employees if it is too hot, cold, ext., but you know that they are checked up on and switch out so they do not get too hot.
17. You say my pleasure; All of the time
It becomes a force of habit because you hear it so much. Especially if you are like me and say thank you an obnoxious amount.
18. The Cows. Make. Your. Day. Every. Day.
Whether you pass one on the highway, stop by the store and see a new advertisement, or see them on google, every time you see those cute things you laugh and smile. You can even spell like them “Eat MOR Chikin.”
19. Owning a t-shirt
Some event, somewhere you found a Chick-fil-A t-shirt and could not resist buying it!! One of the greatest places to get a cute t-shirt is the annual MOO-VE IT 5K and fun run!! Get to exercise, a t-shirt, and the proceeds go to a great cause!!
20. You work there
After the years of eating there, you have realized how great of a job it would be. The employees are all so kind and considerate, they are closed on Sundays, and FREE FOOD (when you work). All are great reasons but the greatest gift from working at Chick-Fil-A is the family you gain. I have only worked at my store since May, but I feel like I have known everyone forever. When we say “my pleasure” we mean it. We love our team, our guest, and this great corporation.
