Movie Quotes and More

There is just something about a romantic comedy that us girls keep coming back to. It's the long list of attractive people filling the roles and the basically-given happy ending. We are given hope— When we're struggling to find love in our 20s, we will look like Kate Hudson and run into a guy somewhere unexpected. Within about 15 minutes of a major relationship conflict, we'll get back together and live happily ever after. Oh, how life is so simple in the movies.

In between the corny lines and expected plot twists these movies actually teach us about love, life, friendship, and heartbreak. They all bring to light a different trait that love has in the different plots. Before you decide to fully embark on your attempt at finding love, watch these movies and learn the lessons Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore learned the hard way (fiction or not).

1. "The Holiday"

Seek adventure for yourself and let love come to you.

2. "27 Dresses"

Don't rely too much on your fantasies to come true or you'll miss out on what could actually happen in your real life.

3. "Crazy, Stupid, Love"

Finding the right person means fun times, laughter and friendship. That person will be the one you want to quit the game for.

4. "Knocked Up"

People can surprise you— Give them the change to surprise you.

5. "13 Going On 30"

Be grateful for what you have in front of you, love will transpire from that alone.

6. "The Proposal"

The only way to find love is if you let your walls down.

7. "Just Go With It"

The truth can hurt, but it's better to tell it than to get caught in lies.

8. "Dear John"

Sometimes you have to move on, even when it seems impossible, to bring you to something better.

9. "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days"

Cut the bullshit.

10. "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"

Family comes first... that means approval, no matter how crazy they all are.

11. "This Means War"

Try to pursue one guy at a time... karma is always sure to get you back in the worst ways.

12. "The Break-Up"

Don't settle for anything less than you deserve.

13. "Wedding Crashers"

There comes a time where you become too old for the game and need to settle down.

14. "The Notebook"

What is meant to be will work out as long as you stay true to yourself.

15. "P.S. I Love You"

Celebrating a life can bring the loss of a loved one closer than mourning.

16. "50 First Dates"

Love isn't always easy; You have to really work for it to make it successful.

17. "Friends With Benefits"

Sex without feelings never works.

18. "He's Just Not That Into You"

Moral of this one: We're not the confusing ones, men are confusing.

19. "John Tucker Must Die"

Don't get caught up in the smooth talking.

20. "Something Borrowed"

Tell ~that person~ how you feel before you miss your chance completely.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
