Dogs have been around since the beginning of time keeping everyone they interact with entertained and happy, and they will continue to do so for a long time. However, you never really notice all of the things that these amazing animals do for us, so take a minute, and thank your dog for being awesome.

1. You will never have to eat alone.

Because they'll always be right there at your feet begging for food.

2. Food is never wasted.

You can share it, drop it on the floor or leave it on your plate and they'll be sure to scarf down every last bit.

3. They are able to be entertained by the simplest thing, even without you there.

Lazer pointers, balls, and any other type of toy that squeaks will make them the happiest pup in the world.

4. They are always down to try new things.

Especially if it involves walks, swimming, or food.

5. They tolerate us when we mess with them.

Just be careful with how far you push them, and make sure it's never in a mean way.

6. Did I say they put up with a lot of stuff?

"I love them, I love them.... - tail wag -

7. They are always in a good mood.

HI! I'M DOG

8. They are always excited to see you when you get home.

They'll love you unconditionally, and tackle you everytime you walk through your front door.

9. They aren't good at not looking guilty.

We know you ate the cat treats Denver.

10. They always comfort each other.

They'll comfort you too, don't worry.

11. Goodbyes tend to be the worst.

Don't worry friend, we hate that we have to go too.

12. You scratch my back, I scratch yours.

13. They still love us even when we put them to shame on social media.

They'll always find a new way to annoy you, but it'll be in some of the greatest ways.

14. Even if mess up, or do something wrong, it tends to be really funny.

Sometimes, when they fail it's in an extremely funny way, so we at least can laugh a little.

15. They always give us a weird look when we're looked confused.

How can you resist that face?

16. However, sometimes we're just trying to figure out what they're doing.

I WILL EAT THIS CAGE AND I WILL COME LOVE YOU! - Dog

17. They always are down to listen.

They will never judge you either.

18. They are awesome cuddlers.

Since they sleep all day anyways, they have to be masters at it.

19. They are loyal as can be.

They will always be by your side, no matter what.

20. Dogs are just all around awesome.

They are just happy to be around you and they want to be able to show you why they are the greatest pet in the world.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
