Do you ever find yourself looking at someone you consider a close friend doing something weird or annoying, like chucking a brownie at you, or talking about how much they love old western movies, or tackling you for no apparent reason. You find yourself thinking, Why am I friends with this person? Well, in all likelihood, they probably have the same recurring thoughts about you. So as a friendly reminder to both of us, here are some reasons why I know we are friends.
1. We have common interests.
2. We can't decide whether we want to encourage or insult one another.
3. We don't like admitting when we are wrong.
4. We tell each other about our problems.
5. We somehow encourage each other to be more stupid and more immature.
6. We know who the stronger friend is, and that's who will get their way.
7. When something good happens to one of us, we get really excited.
8. We seem to be the only people that think we can dance.
9. We tell each other things we won't tell anyone else.
10. Sometimes, we share too much.
11. We know things other people don't know.
12. We know our strengths and weaknesses.
13. We make each other laugh.
13. And only we know why we are laughing.
14. We're honest with each other.
16. We make each other crazy.
17. Sometimes, we may even hurt each other's feelings.
18. But we talk it out.
19. And we always make up.
20. Even though we don't express it all the time, we know what we mean to each other.
We may fight, we may say things we don't mean in the heat of the moment, but we know that whatever happens, we are friends. We are there for each other when it matters most. We make each other laugh until our cheeks are sore. We go on stupid adventures together in the middle of the night. We have inside jokes and form weird habits around one other. You mean so much more to me than you know. Thank you for being a friend.
