If you’re reading this, you probably have a test that you should be studying for right now, but studying is boring and draining. Plus, the whole time that you’re studying, all you’re thinking about is everything that you could be doing if you weren’t studying. Well, here’s a list of very important things that you can do before starting your studying.

1. Start a New TV Show

Open up Netflix, and just click the first mildly interesting show. Now, you can’t possibly start studying until you binge-watch the entire show. Bonus if it has like 10,000 seasons like Grey’s Anatomy.

2. Clean Your Room

How could you possibly study in a toxic, messy environment? Before you start studying, you need to clean absolutely everything. Sweep, dust, and scrub every inch of the room before you even think about doing anything else. Then, do some laundry to top it all off.

3. Make a List

It can be hard to remember everything you need to do in order to be prepared for a test. It would be so much easier if you had a carefully crafted and color-coded list to tell you what to do.

4. Try on Clothes

Does that dress that you bought five years ago still fit? Time to try it on. Well, now that it’s on, you might as well put on makeup and heels. Take pics.

5. Stalk Someone’s Social Media

Remember your best friend from the first grade? Remember your ex? Remember your current bae’s ex? What are they up to these days? Well, it’s time to find out. Bonus if you accidentally like an old photo and then have to go through your own social media to make sure it looks like you’re really happy and not sad.

6. Catfish Someone

Wanna get back at someone? Wanna get money from weird, old men? Catfish somebody, and see how long you can keep it going. Bonus if you have to DM a model to get a picture of her holding a fork.

7. Eat Something

How are you possibly going to study on an empty stomach? That’s just unhealthy. Go find a large quantity of food that takes a long time to eat. Bonus if you make it yourself and waste even more time.

8. Get Coffee

You’ll also obviously need some caffeine for your study sesh. Starbucks run.

9. Make a Playlist

You can’t study in silence. That would be too distracting. Instead, make a study playlist of your favorite songs that you sing all the words to when they come on.

10. Try to Find the Answers to the Test Online

It’s worth a try, right?

11. Play a Video Game

Now, this can be a tough one because you have to find a game that will preoccupy you for a while. As an avid and expert gamer, I recommend The Sims. However, if you can’t afford that, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood will do.

12. Do Yoga

The reason you can’t study is that your chis aren’t in alignment or something. Do some yoga to realign yourself and relax. In order to do that, you’ll need a mat, a great yoga video from YouTube, and another playlist, so get on that.

13. Water Your Plants

Don’t have any plants? Go buy a plant.

14. Text Your Friends

Ask everyone if they’re studying, too. Try to get them to go to the library with you. Ask them if they want anything from Starbucks. Make them listen to your new playlist.

15. Have a Spa Day

How could you possibly study with huge pores and chipped nail polish? Better fix that. (Your eyebrows could use a little work, too.)

16. Learn a Dance to a Beyoncé Song

Learn the dance, but don’t use one of those tutorials. Just watch music videos until you nail the moves. If you’re new to teaching yourself dances, it’s never too late to learn the Hoedown Throwdown or We’re All in This Together.

17. Start a Band

You’ve got the moves, the friends, and the playlist. Time to let the world see what a star you are.

18. Craft Something

You know what would really spruce up this room? Canvases.

19. Start a Cult

I’m sure there’s a WikiHow article about this.

20. Read This Article Again

Better read through another time before you start studying to make sure that you didn’t miss anything.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
