Life, man. Sometimes it's easy to get a little off track. Growing up is an exciting, yet stressful process. We're beginning our real-life endeavors or planning for the future. We work hard and party harder. We often draw a blank on what it means to live a healthy lifestyle. In my opinion, health is different for everyone, it depends on you! It's inspiring to be the best you can be, but sometimes you need a few guidelines. Here's 20 things your 20-something-year-old self should practice and preach.
1) Check your credit card statements regularly, even if it hurts your soul.
2) Put down your phone when you're out with people.
3) Understand that exercise isn't a bad thing and doesn't have to be a big time commitment.
4) Don't try to keep up with the Joneses, you'll lose
5) NEVER grocery shop on an empty stomach.
6) Stop beating yourself up and give yourself a pat on the back every once in a while because you probably deserve it.
7) Take care of your body.
8) Make to-do lists often.
9) Don't snack if you're not hungry.
10) Continuously learn new things.
11) Drink as much water as you can, every day.
12) Drop some loose change in the same jar daily.
13) Stand the hell up for yourself.
14) Listen to your body.
15) Always wear your seat belt.
16) Call your mom and dad... a lot.
17) For every 20 minutes on the computer, look away for one minute.
18) Learn to take constructive criticism.
19) Never let Google diagnose you.
20) Try to crack a smile out of someone each and every day.
Whatever age you may be, we're all trying our best. I hope these 20 tips will help ground your busy mind. I hope they will inspire you to kill it and rock it. There is no better time than now to start living a little more healthy and level headed. After all, George Bernard Shaw did say, "Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything."
