No matter what your mode of transportation is to get to college, there is a long set of difficulties that every commuter can relate to. Whether you drive, take the railroad, subway, or any other method to get from one place to another, you have definitely complained about these at least once — even if you love your school.

1. You have to wake up extra early to make it to class on time.

An 8:00 a.m. class is basically your worst nightmare.

2. You know exactly how long it takes to get to campus…

OK, so, if I leave the house at 9:26 I'll have just enough time to be through the doors by 10:04 to walk to my class at 10:10.

3. And if even one thing in your morning routine gets messed up — you're screwed.

Train is delayed, there is an accident on the highway, you overslept...all a total disaster.

4. You’ve probably tried your best to get to school when you’re supposed to at the beginning of the semester…

"I will leave my house with plenty of extra time and room for error!"

5. But, as the days go on, you start to care less and less when you show up late.

"I'm so done with school" takes a whole new definition.

6. Lugging your stuff back and forth is a workout…

It is literally a form of exercise.

7. You have to bring most of your books with you every day…

Four out of five classes in one day with no time to go home to switch books...

8. And your computer…

In case you need to type something up last minute.

9. And (most importantly) lots of food.

You have such a long day that it is impossible not to get hungry every hour. You are an expert at snacks at this point.

10. If you forget anything, it is pretty impossible to turn around to go get it.

Guess I'll be looking on with someone today.

11. From time to time, you envy those who can just roll out of bed and walk to class in their pajamas.

Must be nice...

12. People often ask how you do it…

Literally every day.

13. You get asked, “Isn’t commuting annoying?,” a countless number of times.

"I've gotten used to it."

14. You have to admit it can get pretty tiring.

Correction, exhausting.

15. You always seem to find a place to nap in between class…

The library, your car, the floor...

16. Or during class.

You can't help it.

17. After all, sometimes you are at school all day…

"Wasn't the sun up when I got here?"

18. And occasionally you even regret not going away to a college where you can conveniently live on campus.

The luxury of a simple five-minute walk...

19. You may even find yourself counting down every minute until you can be home already…

"Just one more class!"

20. However, you feel much better when the day is finally over and you can return to a home-cooked meal and your own bed.

Commuting does have its perks.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
