Whether you're ready or not, the holidays are in full swing. While most holidays are filled with warm and happy memories; it wouldn't be the same without a few stressful or awkward moments. These moments may not always be the most pleasant during the time being, however, being able to reflect back and laugh on them allows for them to transform themselves into what makes the holidays, the holidays. In order to encourage you to laugh at these zany moments, here are 19 times that Shrek accurately described Thanksgiving:

1. When you were planning on losing weight, but Thanksgiving snuck up on you.

It happens to me EVERY year.

2. When the weird relative finishes telling a story.

Every family has at least one weird relative; and if you don't, it's probably you.

3. When you're fighting with someone, but you're still thankful for them.

The holidays can sometimes have people on edge, but that doesn't make us love them any less.

4. When you're asked why you still don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend.

For single people, this is the question that they fear each year.

5. When you come across that dish where you just have no clue what's going on.

There's always that ONE dish that is left untouched.

6. When that one drunk relative starts fighting with everyone.

Again, if you've never witnessed this, it's probably you.

7. When you STILL sit at the kids table.

Whether you're 8 or 81, the kids table is for everyone.

8. When a relative asks you how you and your siblings grew up so fast.

There's never an answer to this question that doesn't come out awkward.

9. When you're so full that you can barely walk but somebody asks you if you want dessert.

It's okay, your second stomach is calling for you.

10. When you've been cooking for 3 days straight.

When you're the cook, sometimes it's nice to be served.

11. When you've actually been productive this year and you want to make sure that everyone pays attention to you.

We all want a little attention sometimes.

12. Those relatives that ask too many personal questions.

They should probably work on their timing.

13. When that one cousin tries to show off.

We get it, your life is perfect.

14. When all of the starving college kids come home at once.

They've been dreaming of this day since the start of the semester.

15. When you're trying to explain your family tree to your significant other.

If it's long and complicated, don't expect them to understand.

16. When somebody brings up politics or sports teams.

You've just gotta trust who you are sometimes.

17. When you're not sure whether plate number three was such a good idea or not.

By plate number four, there's no turning back.

18. When nobody else eats the dark meat.

Does anyone, though?

19. When the day is over and it's finally time to celebrate Christmas.

It's officially time for Christmas!!!

Ultimately, whether you're spending Thanksgiving with 2, or 22 people, I hope that you're able to enjoy every single part of it; the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
