As you grow up, you learn a lot about life. You learn about yourself - your interests, disinterests, inspirations, dreams, etc, and you really get to create the person you want to be. You learn these lessons which can come from friendships, relationship, mistakes, and accomplishments. Here are a few that I've learned more recently:
1. Ranch is the dressing of life.
2. As weird as you are, there are plenty of people who enjoy the same odd things you do - find them!
3. If you decide to plug in your straightener in your bathroom, make sure it is far away from the shower curtain.
4. Shower curtains are $20 from Target.
5. Even if you absolutely hate it, do your homework.
6. Some concert venues have poor security measures.
7. If you act like you are supposed to be somewhere, most people won’t question it.
8. Be nice to everyone because you never know who might need it.
9. Go to class and greet your teachers if you see them; it’s the key to connections!
10. If it looks like it might rain, wear waterproof mascara regardless of how clumpy your eyelashes might look.
11. Get some sleep!
12. Remember the people who have helped you out; surround yourself with those people.
13. Don't judge others on things you just don't understand.
14. Always forgive but never forget. Find the patterns. People are able to change but that doesn’t mean they will.
15. It is quite possible to have a caffeine addiction and if you go to Dunkin' Donuts more than once a day, you should look into that.
16. Call home. You don’t have to have much to say but let your friends and family know that you’re doing alright.
17. Find something you love to do and do it as much as you can.
18. Needing help doesn’t mean you’re helpless.
19. People that want you in their life, will make an effort and you should do the same.
As the years go on, I'll learn more about life, love, friendships, school, etc. Until then, I'm just keeping an open mind.
