19 Reasons Why Dogs Are The Best Things On Earth

One of life's biggest mysteries. A question that pops into my mind on the daily. Something that pretty much everybody on the face of the Earth wonders about at least once in their lives.

What did we do to deserve dogs?

Dogs, whether you think so or not, are the most precious creatures on this planet. That's not an opinion. Pure fact. Accept it.

For you cat people out there, I have decided that I don't like you and your opinion is wrong to compile a list of reasons why dogs are the best animals ever. So prepare to agree with me because there's no possible way for you to fight me on this.

1. They are always happy to see you.

Literally always. I don't know anybody who is ever as excited to see me as my dogs are.

2. They greet you at the door.

There is absolutely nothing better than walking in the door after a long day and being greeted by your bff.

3. They are good cuddle buddies.

I don't know about you, but having my pup with me while I sleep is so comforting (even when they take up the whole bed.)

4. They forgive you when you step on their tail.

You will probably end up crying and/or apologizing profusely for something that they will forget about in five minutes.

5. They are little mini dishwashers...

Don't worry about your mom telling you to rinse your plate before you put it in the sink. Licky Lickerson to the rescue!

6. ...and little mini vacuums.

If you drop food on the floor, don't bother bending down to pick it up. It will be taken care of.

7. Your dog won't give you attitude.

My mom always used to say our dog was her favorite child because he didn't talk back to her. I can't say I blame her.

8. He/she will do whatever it takes to make you happy.

If you're sick, your dog shower you in kisses and comfort you. If you're crying, they will try to lick your tears away. If you're happy, you bet your pup will feed off that energy and reflect right back to you.

9. Dogs don't ditch you.

Your dog is automatically a better friend than anyone else you know because they will never leave you hanging.

10. They don't judge you.

Okay, this one is used lightly. I will admit, both of my dogs have mastered the "side eye." But you get what I'm saying.

11. They are great company.

There's nothing better than snuggling up on the couch with your favorite friend and watching a chick flick!

12. They are entertaining.

Dogs are hilarious! I could literally spend an entire day watching youtube videos of dogs doing weird things. Don't judge me.

13. They are grateful for you.

You may not realize it, but your dog is beyond thankful to have you in his/her life. Every time you feed him, take him outside, give him a treat, or tell him he's a good boy, he will be grateful for all that you do to take care of him.

14. Dogs are LITERALLY THE CUTEST!

This one needs no explanation. Just look at any dog and feel your heart melt. There's your evidence.

15. They give you something to take pictures of.

My phone is literally FILLED with pictures of my dog. How can you resist???

16. They will protect you at all costs.

Dogs have a natural instinct to protect the people they love. And boy, do they love you a lot!

17. They are a part of the family.

Anybody who has ever owned a dog can vouch for me on this one. They are just as much a piece of your family as anybody else in the house. They make your home complete!

18. Your dog is your best friend.

No matter what, your dog will always be your best friend. They will be loyal to you, they'll be there for you, and they will love you unconditionally.

19. Dogs spend their entire life loving you.

Your dog will love you from the time they are puppies up until they take their last breath. Dogs instinctively love, and they make it way too easy for you to love them back. So shower your fur baby with affection and treats. Go outside and play with him. Snuggle her on a rainy day. Let them spend their short amount of time on this planet knowing that they are loved. They deserve it; after all, they are the most precious species on the planet.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
