There are many exciting films coming out in the next year. Some of them are originals, some of them are sequels. Check out the top list:
1. "Everybody Wants Some!!"
Coming out: April 1, 2016
"Everybody Wants Some" is the sequel of the 1993 hit movie "Dazed And Confused." It stars Blake Jenner, Ryan Guzman, Zoey Deutch, Scream Queen's Glen Powell and Teen Wolf's Tyler Hoechlin. It follows a group of baseball players that navigate their way through life unsupervised. People that have already screened the latest Richard Linklater movie say that "it's like the kids of the sandlot grew up and are running all over town."
2. "The Jungle Book"
Coming out: April 15, 2016
This is Jon Favreau's version of the animated movie from 1967. The movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Christopher Walken, Bill Murray, Idris Elba and newcomer Neel Sethi. It should be interesting to see the story told through live action along with animated characters.
3. "Almost Adults"
Coming out April 19th (Tribeca Film Festival)
In this indie film, two best friends Cassie and Mackenzie are in their last year of college and they have always told each other everything. They are basically sisters. Cassie has her relationship problems and somehow doesn't realize that Mackenzie is gay. There is a strain in their relationship when this occurs and they have to try to mend their friendship again.
4. "Mother's Day"
Coming out: April 29, 2016
We've already had "Valentines Day" and "New Years Eve" so make way for the third installment in the Garry Marshall holiday series. This film stars Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson and Jason Sudeikis. It's the perfect film to go see with your mom or any motherly figure in your life.
5. "Captain America: Civil War"
Coming out: May 6, 2016
All hell goes loose when there's a "rift" between Iron Man and Captain America. Steve wants to be from government control and Tony surprisingly wants to stay under the government. This causes the rest of the avengers and other superheroes to choose sides and create a civil war hence the title of the movie.
6. "The Nice Guys"
Coming out: May 20, 2016
I would not be surprised if this film was nominated for an Oscar in 2017. It stars Ryan Gosling and Russel Crowe who look like they have great on screen chemistry. They are private investigators and one is more experienced than the other. A woman comes to them and asks them to help her find her daughter which leads them to run into various criminals including one played by Matt Bomer.
7. "Now You See Me 2"
Coming out: June 10, 2016
The Four Horsemen are back! Just like the original, they are once again trying to pull off the ultimate magic trick. Except, one person is in their way and is attempting to frame them. Their only choice is to pull off the trick and uncover who is trying to undermine them.
8. "Finding Dory"
Coming out: June 17, 2016
Just keep swimming! Dory and the whole gang are back! Except this time, Nemo isn't missing. Dory has a bit of a...memory problem so, she randomly remembers things. In this case, she remembers she has a family. All your favorites from the first movie search with her to find them.
9. "The BFG (Big Friendly Giant)"
Coming Out: July 1, 2016
Based on the best selling novel "The BFG" 10 year old Sophie makes friends with a giant. However, when she befriends him there are evil giants that don't agree with their friendship. Because of this, Sophie and The Big Friendly Giant must go to Queen Victoria to stop all the evil giants.
10. "The Secret Life Of Pets"
Coming Out: July 8, 2016
Do you ever wonder what your pets do when you're not at home? This animated movie hilariously shows you exactly what you think they do. It's kind of a Toy Story approach to 2016.
11. "Ghostbusters"
Coming out: July 15th
Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy?! What an amazing team. The ghostbusters are back & they are all women (Yaaaaaas!!). Plus, Chris Hemsworth and Bill Murray make cameos. This is a must see.
12. "Suicide Squad"
Coming out: August 5th
Jared Leto, Ben Affleck, Margot Robbie, and Will Smith star in this new superhero film. The government decides to reunite the DC universe and form the Justice League. But will their mission ultimately kill them?
13. "Storks"
When we think of storks we think of delivering babies. In this animated film the storks have moved on from that and are now delivering packages. However, there is a mix-up and one stork has to make sure that a baby gets delivered on time.
14. "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them"
Based on the hit book series by Harry Potter's J.K. Rowling, this film is all about hunting magical creatures. Eddie Redmayne stars as Newt Scamander.
15. "Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children"
This film is also adapted by a great novel. It tells a story of a boy who follows clues about a horrific family tragedy and it takes him to an abandoned orphanage on a Welsh Island.
16. "The Dark Tower"
The Dark Tower is also a series of books written by the amazing Stephen King. There are many different themes in this film dark fantasy, science fantasy, horror, and western. This film focuses on the main character "gunslinger" and his quest towards a tower. Matthew McConaughey & Idris Elba star.
17. "The Magnificent Seven"
Coming out: January 13, 2017
Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke and Matt Bomer star in this remake film. They are the seven townspeople chosen to battle a ruthless industrialist. The movie is set in the old west and a remake of a film with the same name that came out in 1960.
18. "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure"
Coming out: February 17, 2017
This is the third installment in The Maze Runner series. The main character Dylan O' Brien was hurt on set so filming for this movie has been postponed. However, as of now, they have the same premiere date.
19. "Beauty and the Beast"
Emma Watson, Luke Evans and Ewan McGregor star in this new adaptation of the hit film. All your favorite characters are back but they aren't animated.
