Parents: you can't live with them, you can't live without them. However, when your parents are a doctor and/or a nurse, you know that the world definitely can't live without them. When push comes to shove, doctors and nurses are there to save the day. Growing up with a doctor and a nurse for parents is quite the experience because of this, and every day is a new, exciting adventure. If you pretty much grew up in a hospital, these 18 things will ring true for you!

1. You’ve never been totally sure if they’re married to your other parent or their job.

2. You think you can give your friends free medical advice because you have heard all your parent's doctor stories.

3. 90% of the laundry is comprised of scrubs and there are piles of them in the laundry room.

4. You learned that medical tape had many more practical uses than just for medical needs and you have at least 5 rolls in your junk drawer.

5. You thought it was the coolest thing ever to hang out with the other doctors in the doctor's lounge as a kid.

6. They always knew when you were faking being sick to get out of school. You literally had to be dead to miss a day of school.

7. You have never had a checkup in your life because your parent is your doctor and they don’t even have to check you to know you’re peachy keen.

8. The hospital is like your second home and you know its nooks and crannies like the back of your hand.

9. Your parent's colleagues are your friends on Facebook and like/comment on your posts more than your own friends do.

10. Forging a signature on the field trip permission slip you forgot to get signed was easy because every doctor’s handwriting is chicken scratch.

11. You knew the daily specials in the hospital cafeteria and had a favorite meal (HOSPITAL PIZZA WAS THE GREATEST THING EVER).

12. Friend: “Look at this (insert abnormal skin condition here)… can your dad check it out for me?”

13. You went through a plethora of different daycares and babysitters when you were younger because the 7 am-7 pm shift meant no one was ever home after school.

14. They’re referred to as “doc” more than they are called by their actual name.

15. They're a hometown hero/celebrity because everybody and their brother has been taken care of by your parent at some point.

16. Your medicine cabinet is so big it could pass for a small pharmacy and contains at least one (if not more) type of medication for every possible illness you could contract.

17. There is no one better suited to piece together broken hearts or bandage scraped knees than your parent.

18. You are so proud of them and all of their hard work—saving lives, one day at a time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
