18 Thoughts You Have Before Going Back to School

Knowing that you move back into college in either a week or just a few short days, there are so many thoughts that go through your head. You think about all the crap you still need to get, all the clothes you still need to pack and all the goodbyes you still have to say. There is a lot that goes into moving back into college and there never seems like there is enough time to do it before it is time to pack up the car and head out for that four hour drive! I hope this list is a reminder for all the things that you have forgotten about or have yet to even cross your mind!

1. What kind of school supplies do I need?

Do I really need all of these paper clips? When have I actually ever used a paper clip? Do I have pencils and pens? I need highlighters, lots and lots of highlighters.

2. Where is that calculator?

I could have sworn I put that calculator on m desk. That was a $100 calculator and if I don't find it my mother is going to kick my a**!

3. How many shirts should I take?

I should probably take them all just in case right?

4. Should I bring my winter clothes now or wait until Thanksgiving Break?

You know it starts snowing in October so you should probably just bring them now. You should know the answer to this question by now, you've been in college for how many years?!

5. I hope there is someone to help me move in

I cannot carry all of this crap in by myself. What am I going to do? I really don't want to make 16 trips up and down the elevator. I really hope at least one of my friends are there.

6. I don't think I'm ready to go back

I cant do this. I haven't enough time to do everything I planned on doing this summer. I cant leave yet.

7. *mom yells* Nope, I am definitely ready to go back

This woman will be the death of me I swear. TAKE ME AWAY NOW.

8. I don't even know where my suitcase is

Every. Single. Time.

9. Am I packing too much?

Probably, but its better to have more than enough than not enough, am I right?

10. I hope I don't get lost finding my classes...again

This happens every single year. You'd think I would know where everything is by now but nope, I still don't know where the hell I'm going.

11. The fist weekend back with my girls is going to be LIT

I cant wait to see all my girls again so we can stay up all night, watch Netflix and dance like animals in our dorms.

12. I'm going to put in some serious work this semester

I'm more determined than "11" coming back out of nowhere and saving the boys from falling off the cliff and getting cut by a knife. (Stranger Things y'all, its on Netflix)

13. What time does Livy's open?

Best ice cream shop in all of Frostburg/Cumberland. Need to get my milkshakes on!

14. When will I be able to take naps?

I need to schedule these naps very strategically, last semester just got way out of hand.

15. I guess it's back to an all Ramen diet

I wonder how long before I get tired of Ramen this year? maybe I will just start adding random sauces to it. My boyfriend likes ranch and hot sauce, maybe ill try that this time, switch it up a little, you know?

16. I'm going to miss my friends

I hate leaving my friends and boyfriend when I go back to school. That's always the hardest part.

17. It's already time to go back?

I really just cant even believe that it is time to go back to school already. This summer has flown by.

18. LET'S DO THIS

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
