It takes a special kind of person to be an indecisive person. I've been an indecisive person for pretty much my entire life and it definitely comes with certain struggles. I can never seem to be able to decide on what I want to eat or wear for the day and the struggle is even worse if it's a major life decision.
I'm constantly asking my friends for their opinions and what they would do because I just can't seem to make a decision. And while I have definitely gotten better about my indecisiveness, there are certain struggles that are universal for all indecisive people.
1. It's your worst nightmare when you're asked what you want to eat.
You can never decide on the restaurant and then choosing what to eat at the restaurant is a whole other struggle.
2. Clothes shopping is the worst.
There's just so many options for different styles and colors.
3. Picking out an outfit in the morning takes forever.
Because you're trying to factor in the weather, what you like, and what goes together and it's exhausting.
4. Any major life decision is pretty much the end of the world for you.
You're constantly worried that this one decision is going to negatively effect the rest of your life.
5. You always seem to take 3-5 business days just to text your crush back.
It takes forever just to decide on what to say but then you re-read that message over and over again until you end up not replying at all.
6. When you make a decision, you wonder if the other option would have been better.
Once you do make a decision the anxiety sets in that the other option would have been better.
7. You're a people pleaser at the core.
You're constantly taking other people's opinions into account because you don't want them to be disappointed, but then you can't make a decision in a timely manner.
8. You ask anyone and everyone for their opinion and advice.
You can never seem to just trust your own opinion and gut feeling so you must ask everyone you've ever met about the decision you're trying to make.
9. You never purchase anything without doing extensive research.
It doesn't matter what you're buying, a TV or a toothbrush, you have to read the reviews because you're paranoid you'll make the wrong decision.
10. You swear by making pro and con lists.
Pro and con lists are your best friends because they manage to organize your scattered mind so you can actually make a decision.
11. Your friends often get quite frustrated with you.
Because it takes so long for you to make a decision your friends and family often get frustrated that you still haven't made a decision.
12. Planning meals for the week is a major hassle.
Living on your own is tough enough but then when you try to plan your meals for the week is even tougher because what if on Thursday you don't want chicken for dinner?
13. You could never date another indecisive person.
They could be your soulmate but you would steer clear because you know deep down nothing would ever get decided on.
14. You've never really been one to try new things.
You like routine and the tried and true and deep down you're worried that this new decision or choice will be the wrong one and you'll be filled with regret afterwards.
15. You would much rather go with the flow and let someone else make the plans.
Your dream scenario is when someone tells you what's going to happen and you don't have to make any decisions because the plan is already set.
16. You most likely have commitment issues when it comes to relationships.
Dating is tricky with you because you're always going back and forth about your feelings so you can never seem to have long-term relationships.
17. Trying to choose what to watch on Netflix is awful.
There's just so many options between TV shows and movies and then you can't decide whether you're in the mood for a comedy or a drama.
18. You're constantly paranoid that you'll commit to one thing and something better will come along later.
And your overall fear is that once you do actually decide on something and commit something better will come along and since you've already committed to one thing you can't participate in the even better activity.
