18 Reasons Why I'm Looking Forward To Moving Back Home

In two short weeks, I will be moving out of my dorm room at Bowling Green State University and back into my room at home. I am very excited for many reasons:

1. A full size bed

Finally, I will be sleeping in my queen size bed again where I can stretch out and not worry about smacking the wall with my arm.

2. An un-lofted bed

I am so sick of climbing up into my bed and climbing down from my bed. It is a miracle I haven't fallen from my lofted bed yet. I am glad that I will be close to the ground again.

3. A bigger room

My room at home is twice the size of my dorm room and it's just me in there.

4. No roommate

I have a great roommate now, but I can't wait until I'm alone in my room. I won't need earbuds to watch Netflix on my laptop or play music. I can have the lights on late and make as much noise as I want.

5. My own bathroom

I was lucky enough to have a dorm with a bathroom in it, but it's not the same as having your own bathroom at home.

6. My DVR

I have so many shows and movies recorded on my DVR at home and I can't watch them at school.

7. My Cable

My college has cable, but it's nothing compared to my cable at home. Like, how am I suppose to watch the Detroit Tigers play if I can't even get the channel at school?!

8. Healthy Food

In my room at home, I won't have instant access to snacks so I will be forced to eat healthier. The temptation of junk food will disappear.

9. My WiFi

No more logging into the school's wifi. No more worrying if someone is going to hack into my personal accounts over the school wifi. No more using unreliable wifi.

10. My car is right outside my house

I won't have to walk 10 minutes to my car anymore, it will be parked right outside my house.

11. Laundry

I won't have to worry about having my laundry stolen if it stays in the washer or dryer for too long.

12. I can use a toaster.

I've missed toasting bagels for breakfast. We aren't allowed to have toasters or hot plates of any sort in our dorm.

13. No setting off fire alarms (as easily)

I won't have to worry about setting off a fire alarm at home because where I cook food isn't in a small space.

14. It's quiet.

No more hearing the garbage truck right outside my window at 4 AM. No more hearing loud people talking in the hallway in the middle of the night. No more hearing TVs through the thin walls.

15. No keys

I won't have to worry about locking myself out of my room because I left my key in there. I also won't have to worry about losing my PED or my dorm key which are both very expensive to replace.

16. No shoes

No more having to wear shoes everywhere I go!

17. Bigger closet space

All my clothes and shoes will finally be in one spot: my walk-in closet. The closet space at school is tiny and it was always overflowing with clothes I brought.

18. Decorating the way I want to

No more following the fire code. That's right, I'll wrap my Christmas lights around my bed if I want to. And I'll use anything but painter's tape to hang up pictures and wall decor.

I have enjoyed the dorm life for the most part, but as the end of the year is nearing, I am looking forward to moving back home.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
