Some weeks are easier than others, there's no denying that fact of life. Most weeks you can get by with a pretty mediocre week, a few things going your way and a few things falling by the wayside. These weeks are really no big deal. We don't complain about them, we don't praise them...we just forget about them with due time.

For the most part, these "perfectly balanced" periods are nothing truly memorable. They're just another stream in the "day of the life" that constitutes human life. You had some good days, you had some bad days...that's to be expected of a normal life.

The weeks that are truly memorable are those that consist of a parade of one type of day: good or bad.

Sometimes you feel like you have everything together, you can relax, and life, in general, is going really well. These weeks are great because you know that everything will be okay, you know that you have all of your ducks in a row. The sun is shining, you can rest easy, and nothing is standing in the way of you and your dreams.

Other weeks, you feel like everything is falling apart the moment it happens. Somehow you've become your own black cat, crossing your own path and tripping yourself up just because of sheer dumb luck.

Don't let those weeks get you down. Instead, take a page out of the books of these inspirational quote authors and keep your chin up! Everything will get better when you have those off weeks!

This week, it's up to you to decide to be a leader and not a follower.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
