As the daughter of a principal and a teacher, it is a safe assumption that while I was growing up, I learned a lot about education. Additionally, I learned that it is impossible to get anything past my parents when it came to my own education, particularly if I wanted to hide a grade or procrastinate on homework. 1. You will never be able to avoid getting asked at dinner if you got any grades returned
2. Saying, “Everyone else did really badly, too!” is usually met with an unimpressed expression
3. The names of other teachers / principals in their district

5. Public and private educators are viewed in extremely different ways
6. Politicians who want to run schools like businesses don’t have a clue
7. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie … (see No. 6)

9. Bus duty is a long process, but it comes with a great payout
10. You’re expected to have your homework done yesterday
