Sometimes you're an OK driver.

17 Reasons I Could Not Be More Grateful For My Younger Sister

Even though I am the eldest sibling, I look up to my younger sister and aspire to have some of her own spirit rub off on me.

She is the epitome of a wild child, a free spirit and the text book definition of a middle child, and for her, I'm grateful.

Even though little sisters can be your best friend, while also at times being your absolute worst nightmare, at the end of the day, what would we do without them? So, here goes why I'm thankful for you.

1. You are by no means afraid to be completely honest with me.

No matter what the situation, you will tell me the truth no matter how hard it may be and even when I don't want to hear it. Whether it's a serious life problem or when you tell me to go get my eyebrows done because I'm bushy, thank you for your honesty (even though I may get offended).

2. You are like my therapist.

When life gets to be too hectic or crazy, I look to talk to you because you're funny and real and just tell me what's up.

3. You always have faith in me.

When something is a challenge or something is in my way, you always push me to go forward with it.

4. You deal with me when I have my "mom" moments.

Even though I'm only a couple of years older than you, I have experienced more than you. Therefore, sometimes I know that you like my advice and sometimes you don't. Listen to me sometimes; I know what I'm talking about!

5. You encourage me to step outside of my comfort zone.

When I'm being too much of a mom and worrying too much about all of the responsibilities that I have, you make me throw caution to the wind and step outside of my comfort zone. Thank you for always encouraging me to be a bit more adventurous like you.

6. Your wild child side.

You always have a certain zest for life. You're adventurous and full of moxie.

7. You are never a follower; you are a born leader.

You take the bull by the horns and you never ever let someone tell you what to do.

8. You know how to have a good time.

You are the life of the party, you make any situation fun and you always make a night out a good time.

9. You make me laugh.

Your stinging sarcasm makes me laugh so hard that I cry. Your jokes and one-liners never fail to make me laugh.

10. You go to the beat of your own drum.

You are so stubborn sometimes and everything is done within your own time and way. I like it, though, because you are yourself and you do what you want and nobody and nothing will change it. You do your own thing without worrying what others think and I wish I was more like that.

11. You are strong, you will stop at absolutely nothing to get what you want.

You have proven time and time again that when you want something bad enough, you are going to get it and you usually do.

12. You help with all my Instagram posts and captions.

Thank you for always editing my pictures and helping me come up with a caption. I'd be lost without you, so thanks, sista. You're also always down for a top notch selfie.

13. You're a fun passenger and sometimes you're an OK driver.

OK, so whenever you're on aux it's a good time and you're an OK driver. There are just some times when I fear for my life, OK?

14. Our adventures and road-trips.

Wouldn't want to crush the 4-hour car ride to and from New Jersey with anyone else. Also, I wouldn't want to pull over in a sketchy rest stop with anyone else but you.

15. You are the complete opposite of me.

You are the yin to my yang, girlfriend. Sometimes we are the complete polar opposites from one another and it's World War III, but then other times our opposites come together and work well.

16. For being the only person that I can share anything with.

You are someone who I can tell anything to and I know that you have my back for real.

17. No matter what, you're there.

I wouldn't want it any other way.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
