16 Tips For A Successful 2016

It's official: we are one week into 2016. New Year's Resolutions are still going strong and gym memberships have yet to be canceled. But for many, the idea of going on morning jogs, starting a juice cleanse and opening that savings account are just too much to handle. Believe you know what? That is totally okay. Here are a few simple ways we can make sure we get the best out of 2016 without a resolution getting in your way.

1. Stay Positive: No one accomplishes anything with a negative attitude.

2. Eat: Breakfast is key. But pizza is also necessary and you deserve to indulge.

3. Read More Books: Become cultured. Read novels so you can have stories to tell.

4. Smile More: It's a fact: smiling makes everything better.

5. Laugh At Yourself: It's the only way you'll learn from your mistakes.

6. Stay Focused: Set goals and stop at nothing to achieve them.

7. Forgive And Forget: Don't hold grudges...they're heavy.

8. Get More Sleep: Take care of yourself. Those bags under your eyes are not designer.

9. Stay Up Late: Lets be real; the best memories happen after midnight.

10. Be Adventurous: Take chances. Regrets are hard things to live with.

11. Worry Less: Anxiety sucks. Be a warrior not a worrier.

12. Love Recklessly: The heart wants what the heart wants.

13. Cry More: Don't bottle up emotions. It's okay if you're an ugly crier.

14. Trust Yourself: Your first instinct is always correct.

15. Be Grateful: Wake up every morning thankful for the air in your lungs and the heartbeat in your chest.

16. Enjoy Every Second: We've got one life to live, so lets make the best of each year we are given.

Cheers to a happy, healthy and successful new year.

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
