1. Go for a walk or on a hike

Nothing beats an evening walk, talking with someone you love or a best friend. Find a place to watch the sunset, look at the stars, and appreciate the beauty of nature. Plus it’s free!

2. Have a bonfire

How could you pass up an opportunity to be outdoors, sitting around a fire? Add in your best friends and the night will be nothing short of perfect. Plenty of my summer nights are spent laughing till I cry around the fire with my friends and I wouldn’t trade that time for anything. (This option is also free!)

3. Go camping

Seriously I just love being outdoors and in nature. Turn our phone off and enjoy the present time with the presence of people you love. Facebook will still be there full of pointless drama and fake news stories when you return.

4. Find a fun DIY and give it a shot

Arts and crafts with the girls? Sign me up! Scroll through Pinterest and find something fun to make and take with you back to school!

5. Clean out your closet and donate your old clothes

Feeling productive? Rainy day? Clean out your closet. There are plenty of places to donate your clothes and the feeling is very rewarding.

6. Go to a locally owned ice cream shop (they are always the best)

Find a local ice cream shop and take a date. Nothing beats a good ice cream cone on a 90 degree day!

7. Paint a picture

Even if you’re not the best artist on the block (like my bff Bailey whose art is featured above), painting can be a fun way to relax or de-stress. Find a new canvas (like your boyfriends back) and just have fun with it!

8. People watch

This is something I actually do on a daily basis. Its kind of just a habit by now. But seriously, go to a fun spot or even your favorite coffee shop and just take in those around you. You’ll find, meet, or just observe some pretty amazing people and a few entertaining ones too (lol).

9. Go kayaking

Get your friends and go to the nearest forest preserve or lake and find a place to rent canoes, kayaks, or paddle boats. They are usually affordable and a day on the water is always fun!!

10. Go to a Farmers Market

Each Friday, there is a huge market full of local vendors set up with live entertainment, food, and plenty of things to do. It is a great place for people to gather, be outdoors, and support their community as well. I'm sure your town has one too!!

11. Go to a drive in movie

On a date or with a group of friends, drive in movies are not only fun and different, they are also fairly cheap and show two movies each night!

12. Be a photographer for a day

Go out and find the most beautiful sights in your town and capture them on camera. Trust me, you'll find more than you expect.

13. Get a job

LOL just kidding, don't do it...its a trap.

14. Have a paint war

Everyone deserves to play like a kid every now and then, right?

15. Go to an aquarium or museum

The Shedd Aquarium in Chicago is one of my very favorite places. The beauty of the fish and other sea animals is outstanding.

16. Make a summer bucket list and work your way through it

Make a list of things to do this summer, much like this one and you're sure to have the best summer yet!!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
