Every state is different. They have different cuisine, culture, characteristics... certain things that just make that very place your home. If you grew up in North Carolina, then you should know these very things are what set you (as a North Carolinian) and The Tarheel State apart...
1) North Carolina is pretty much the capitol of unpredictable weather! You can literally get all four seasons in one week!
2) School pretty much gets cancelled at just the thought of a snow day.
3) You either bleed Carolina blue or red! There is no in between.
4) Sweetened is the only way to drink your tea.
5) North Carolina is the birthplace of wonderful treats, such as Cheerwine and Krispy Kreme donuts!
6) It's not officially Fall until the State Fair rolls around in October.
7) You know the correct pronunciation of Appalachian. It's Appa-LATCH-un, not Appa-LAYSH-un.
8) Places like Cookout, Bojangles, and Chik-fil-A basically deserve their own food group.
9) You know NC was the first in flight...NOT Ohio.
10) You have to drive to get just about anywhere! There just aren't enough sidewalks in the boonies
11) You've probably spent at least one spring break in Myrtle Beach (although, technically in SC).
12) NC barbecue is the best barbecue! Mmm...vinegar!
13) NC is the home to many successful movie/T.V. show filming locations. (i.e. Dirty Dancing, The Hunger Games, A Walk To Remember, One Tree Hill, Dawson's Creek, etc.)
14) NC has produced some fabulous musical artists over the years! From Nina Simone, to Chris Daughtry, to Scotty McCreery.
15) You can probably name all of The Tarheel State's beautiful lighthouses, since having to learn about them in elementary school. And, maybe you've even seen a couple!
16) And, lastly, North Carolina grows and sells some of the most beautiful Christmas trees in the country! We've even provided trees for The White House.
Although a few of these things can be a bit of an inconvenience, they're also things you've learned to live with. And, you couldn't imagine calling any other place your home!
