When choosing a college, one of the main factors you are forced to consider is whether you want to share your college experience with a select group of less than 1,000 kids, or go completely out of your comfort zone and be surrounded with over 30,000 random strangers. The big vs. small college debate always has prospective college students frantic for the fear that what they choose will be the wrong decision.
Of course there are obvious perks to choosing a large university: the vast amount of new people you meet on a daily basis, the wide variety of majors and classes, and a bunch of activities to participate in around campus. Unfortunately though, there is no promise that a large college is a good fit for everyone, but if the stars align and you see a big college in your future, there's one thing for sure: you will experience all these struggles at one point in your college career.
1. Making your schedule for the first time and realizing there are over 500 different classes you can chose from, but are only allowed to pick five.
2.Going to class for the first time and finding out your lecture teacher doesn't take attendance
3. Eventually starting to make a habit of cutting class and realizing you don't even know what you're learning
4. Sleeping in past your alarm for that class across campus so you look like a fool sprinting there
5. Walking into a party and not recognizing a single soul
6. But meeting someone cute there that you hit it off with...yet to never run into them again around campus
7. Remembering at the end of the night you have to stumble what feels like miles in your high heels and tight skirt all the way back to your dorm
8. When you're absolutely starving but spend a half hour doing laps around the dining hall in hopes of finding a table...
9. And then another 25 minute wait in line just for a sandwich
10. Daily struggle of calling the walk to the gym your workout instead of actually making your way inside
11. But on the rare days you do decide to go in, you're never able to get a machine because it's too packed so you're forced to make do with what you got
12. The treacherous 25 minute walk home from class when you get stuck in a storm and forget an umbrella
14. When you're super excited for game day tailgates, but lose your friends in the sea of people within the first five minutes and turn into lost puppy for the day
15. Basically moving into your friends dorm room because they live across campus and there is no way you are going to make the walk back at 2 a.m.
16.Still getting lost around campus even when you're a senior because it's just that big
Despite all the struggles though, you could never even imagine transferring because this is your home now!
