Mother Nature is beautiful. The mountains and sea always inspire awe, and our periods...well they give us a different awe feeling. Possibly a feeling of hunger or rage, or maybe commercial induced crying, regardless -- our periods give us feels. From our first cycle to our last as we enter older womanhood, our menstrual cycles are simply the worst. Period.

1. They kill your motivation

2. They make you eat everything in sight

3. ...Or nothing at all

4. They take all of your money

5. They ruin any relationships, for three to seven days

6. They crash your white pants party

7. They ruin your favorite underwear

8. They make your uterus cry

9. They make you randomly rage

10. Or...they make you cry for no reason

11. They ruin your bed sheets

12. They make your boobs hurt insanely

13. They ruin your bowel movement routine

14. They make you fear sneezing

15. They make the male species run to the hills

16. They make you feel like the strong amazing woman you are after they depart

Let's face it, part of being a woman includes having this blessed curse of the period. Costing around $600 on average a year, and approximately $22,800 throughout our lifetime (with the average 38 years of menstruation), the period deserves it’s own bank account and zip code. But in the end, being a woman is a pretty bad a** and an amazing honor. And period shaming? Yeah, that's not cool...women are given this beautiful gift of being able to give life. As much as periods suck, they're natural and normal.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
