16 Reasons Not To Vote For Donald Trump

My name is Michelle Piccolino. I am a 20-year-old, registered Republican. I am a Political Science major at Providence College. I am a United States citizen, and I am scared. Not of terrorism, both abroad and domestic, that has plagued the minds of Americans since the towers fell. Not due to the fact that I belong to a generation that will carry this nation’s burden of debt throughout our entire lives. Not for my personal fate in the future after I graduate.

I am scared because a large percentage of our country’s citizens have begun to pledge their support for a man that has the potential to take those common fears I listed above… and amplify them, ultimately leading to the destruction of this country.

If you are one of those individuals who believes that businessman Donald Trump is the best candidate for President of the United States of America, I fear that you are unaware of the man you pledge your allegiance toward.

Below I have outlined a list of reasons why you should not vote for Donald Trump during the primary election season. I personally believe that any one point that I will raise below is enough to dissuade an individual from voting for Trump, but hopefully the culmination of this list will convince even the strongest Trump supporter to dump Trump come election day.

1. Donald Trump does not possess the ability to understand the struggles that middle and lower class Americans must endure throughout their lives.

Donald Trump thinks that his life “wasn’t easy” after getting a “small loan of a million dollars.” A million dollars. A MILLION DOLLARS. My friends loaned me $8 to buy a burrito, and I’m still trying to figure out where to get the money to pay them back. How is Trump supposed to put our country back on track, and work towards redistributing wealth, if he cannot even comprehend the lives of average and underprivileged Americans?

2. Donald Trump says ridiculous things like this…

Can we all build a wall around Donald Trump? I think Mexico would pay for it...

3. And this...

Umm... no.

4. And this...

The fact that Donald Trump has not lost support after making these public statements - his support has only grown - is sickening. WAKE UP, AMERICA. This is not a man who has the potential to be president. He is a buffoon.

5. Donald Trump claims he will be the “best on women,” yet he has consistently disrespected women.

Not to mention the fact that Donald Trump has a very creepy relationship with his daughter, Ivanka Trump.

6. Donald Trump has stooped as low as disrespecting disabled people.

This goes beyond disrespect. This is a disgrace.

7. The symbol of America, the bald eagle, hates Donald Trump.

This might be my favorite gif on the internet. That specific bald eagle is my new spirit animal.

8. Over 500,000 United Kingdom citizens signed a petition to ban Donald Trump from their country.

When one of our country’s strongest allies holds a debate in their parliament on whether or not to ban an American from their country, we should take that seriously. If Donald Trump is not respected by our allies, how can he be taken seriously as a political actor on an international level?

9. A clip of Donald Trump was used in an ISIL recruitment video.

Not only do our allies question the legitimacy of Donald Trump, but now our enemies have used this man to mobilize Americans to join in their fight. I do not recommend watching this recruitment video, but we must acknowledge its existence.

10. Donald Trump has disrespected one of our nation’s war heroes, Senator John McCain.

Seriously, Trump? Because he definitely chose to get captured. You’re a moron.

11. Donald. Trump. Knows. Nothing. About. Politics.

Donald Trump is a businessman. Not a politician. For those of you who think that that is a reason to vote for Trump… Go hire an accountant to rewire the electrics in your house. Did you just get electrocuted? Do you understand?

12. Donald Trump has been endorsed by the craziest woman in the Republican Party, Sarah Palin, the former Governor of Alaska.

If Donald Trump wasn’t bad enough, let’s bring back that chick who can apparently see Russia from her house... Seriously. The only person I trust less than Donald Trump is Sarah Palin. If anything, this endorsement just makes me distrust and dislike Trump more than ever. Although it did lead to Tina Fey making a guest appearance on SNL, so I guess some good did come out of this endorsement.

13. Donald Trump only cares about Senator Ted Cruz’s citizenship because he sees him as a threat.

Donald Trump only cares about Cruz’s citizenship because it is convenient to him. If Cruz weren't doing well in the polls, this issue would not have even been brought up by Trump.

14. Donald Trump is not “politically incorrect.” He’s just an asshole.

Trump likes to say that he has no time for political correctness. Yet he does have time to insult people beyond reason. Donald Trump does not respect people and is more concerned about saying what he feels at the time than the feelings of honest Americans.

15. Donald Trump is not a man but is actually just a combination of raised shoulders, a wrinkled frown and a bad toupee.

‘nuff said.

16. Donald Trump stands no chance in beating whatever candidate is chosen for the Democratic Party.

If you think that Donald Trump could beat either Senator Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton, you are naive. At this point, a vote for Donald Trump is a vote for the next Democratic President.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
