Working out. The thing that, along with a good diet, can help keep us in good shape. The gym can be such an intimidating place. So, why not workout in your own home? I, the master of at-home workouts, am here to help you in your fitness efforts. I put together a list of 10 tips for your daily workout routine!
1. The Stand and Sit
This is a classic move. First, you sit down. Then, when you need more sauce for your fries or your sweet tea runs out, you stand up and get some more.
2. Incline Push Ups
Tbh, I'm not really a fan of this one because it is way to hard. You put your drink on the floor and your motivation to do a full push up is to reach the straw in your drink.
3. Hand To Mouth
Reach in your bag, grab a fry or nugget, and then bring food to your mouth. They are basically yummy arm curls. For double the yum, use both hands. Double the food, double the workout.
4. Breaks Are Essential
All of that eating can really wear you out. You need to rest so that your body can recover and you can start again. Also, who doesn't love naps?
5. Work Those Thumbs!
You have to make sure that your thumbs are strong enough for all of those texts you send! Turn thumb cramps into a thing of the past! So flip those channels and take advantage of your unlimited texting.
6. Wear Appropriate Clothing
Gym shorts and a t-shirt are my go to outfit. I practically live in it. This ensemble is comfortable, but also helps you get the job done. Plus, you don't want to get food or sweat all over your nice clothes.
7. Motivation Nation!
Every couch rat needs motivation sometimes. Sometimes it can be tough for us couch potatoes to feel motivated when everyone around us says that we are lazy and don't do anything. If you need motivation, then here: prove them wrong. Then, take yourself out for ice cream.
8. Stay Out of The Sun
The sun is so bright and it can burn my skin. So why not just workout inside? And even better than that, why not inside of my own home? On my couch? That way no one can see me and if I get tired, then I can just take a break and watch tv.
9. It's Always Better With A Friend
Everything is always better with a friend, especially working out! In my experience, I am often the girl busting her butt on the treadmill. But having a friend there not only adds to the fun, but can also be a safety measure. If there is an accident, you have someone there to laugh at you and then help you.
10. Or You Know.....Actually Go For A Run
I know, I know. All of this just for me to tell you to get off your butt. Go outside and enjoy the fresh air. I mean, you don't have to actually go for a run, but a nice walk helps relieve stress and can be a nice change to the four walls of your home.
