College, a new job, or any different experience can cause the one thing we all hate... Stress. It hurts you mentally and physically and can actually lead to some serious medical conditions. Stress is unavoidable in most cases Nobody needs to be that stressed out but incase you are, here are some ways to kick that stress to the curb.
1. Take a nap
Honestly nothing is more relaxing than a nap. Grab your softest blanket and find the nearest futon, couch or bed!
2. Read a book
Go get your favorite book and just read. Escape from reality for awhile and adventure into a new one.
3. Sit in a hammock
Nothing is better than being outside laying in a hammock. Swaying in the breeze on a sunny day... can't beat it.
4. Talk to a friend
Call up your bestie and just chat. Talk about your day, what you're stressed about, or make plans to go out. What else are friends for?
5. Exercise
Even one minute of exercise will reduce your stress. Getting your blood pumping will release endorphins and boost your mood, science!
6. Eat something sweet
Treat yo self. Grab some ice cream or a cookie and enjoy that, you deserve it!
7. Call your mom
Nobody understands you more than your mom does. Call her up and just talk or even cry, she won't judge.
8. Rearrange/Decorate your room
Being in a dorm room or office every day of the week gets boring, switch it up! Move that desk to a different part of the room, be wild. It's amazing how a new set up will make you feel.
9. Clean your room
Having a tidy space will relieve so much of your stress. A cluttered desk equals a cluttered mind.
10. Paint something
Head to your nearest craft store and get some canvases and paints. It's so relaxing to just sit and paint, even better with friends!
11. Go outside
Nature is a natural stress reliever. Go find a nice shady spot and pop a squat. Sit and just watch nature do it's thing or even read a book.
12. Watch a good movie
Any comedy is great for relieving stress, but get your fav movie, some popcorn and enjoy.
13. Jam out to music
Sing and dance your stress away, that's my motto. Get your groove on and dance away all those stressful thoughts.
14. Drink tea
Unlike coffee or energy drinks, tea is a great calming drink. It has less caffeine than coffee and also has antioxidants, healthy!
15. Just sit and breathe
If all else fails, just breathe it out. Find a quiet spot and just breathe, everything will be okay!
So there you go, a few ways to stop your stress. Just remember when you start to get stressed ask yourself, is it worth it? Most cases it's not. Go live a stress free life!
