Disney princesses. Everyone has a favorite. People love Disney princesses so much that every time you get on the Internet or social media, it seems someone has posted something about reinventing the Disney princesses. They show what the princesses look like with no makeup/realistic makeup, short hair or even realistic bodies. Yet, I haven't seen one about how Disney princesses relate to college (they have, however, shown what they would look like in college). Disney princesses got stressed, hungry and a little angry just like every college student. Disney princesses are just like you...except they live in fancy castles not dorms, and they have fairy godmothers and you don’t! (But you wish you did.)
1. When you hear your alarm go off for class but don't want to wake up.
Cinderella didn't want to wake up to do chores for her evil step-mother and her ugly step-sisters just like you don't want to wake up for that 8:30 class.
2. When you have no idea what is going on in class or on an assignment.
Unlike Jasmine, who was confused about trusting Aladdin enough to see a whole new world on his magic carpet, you will probably be confused about a math problem or how to write your paper.
3. But then you look on the syllabus, and all your questions are answered.
The syllabus is your best friend, and it will always be there when you need it, much like Flynn Rider was there for Rapunzel.
4. When you have overslept and have to get ready really fast.
Now would be a great time to have a fairy god-mother. Bibbity Bobbity Boo!
5. When you're so late you have to run to class.
You might not lose your glass slipper, but your main worry is getting to class without being counted tardy.
Eating what do you call it? Oh, pizza!
Mulan didn't think she could save all of China, but she did, and you can have that paper written before that 8:30 class.
8. When you get an A+ on that paper you worked all night on.
Tiana wished to own her own restaurant. She knew that wishing was only half of it, hard work had to be the other half. You also worked hard on your paper and wished a little for that A+.
9. When you have a pop quiz.
Or worst you forgot to do the reading from the night before. Hopefully a question is, "Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"
10. When everyone wants to be in your group for the group project.
Jasmine says it best.
11. When you get called on in class and don't know what to say.
All eyes will be on you as they were on Belle in her little town, but hopefully you can find something there in your book or notes that'll help you know exactly what to say!
12. When class is canceled.
It's the best part of your world or day; it'll even be better than the gadgets, gizmos, whozits, whatzits and thingamabobs that a mermaid can find!
13. When you drive/walk all the way to class to find out it canceled.
Your professor could have sent you an email or something before you walked all the way there, just to find out that you didn't have to be there. As the dwarfs would say, "Hi-ho, hi-ho, off to no class you go!"
14. When you're stressed.
We all get stressed no matter if its too much on your plate or when your studying for a test that really hard that you have to pass. As Merida says, "There are those who say fate is something beyond our command. That destiny is not our own, but I know better. Our fate lives within us, you only have to be brave enough to see it." You just have to choose how you'll handle that stress. Hopefully you'll handle it bravely and well.
15. When you get to take a nap.
You won't have to prick your finger on a spindle of a spinning wheel to fall into a deep sleep, because after a long day of classes or after a few hours of homework, your body is worn out. So, take some time for some beauty rest, your body will thank you later!
Who knew that Disney princesses had so much in common with college students! Being a college student or a Disney princess sometimes isn't easy; they both come with hardships. They also both come with great rewards. For a Disney princess it is that all your dreams come true, and for a college student it's graduating and getting your dream job. Either way, both live happily ever after. Just wait, yours is coming soon!
