The internet is a blessing hidden behind an ever-so-time-consuming demon. But sometimes, its got just what we need.

Ironic internet humor has probably been the saving grace of the 21st century. Whether it be frog memes, militant worship of an average gorilla, or funny vines (R.I.P.), the internet has long been a source of comfort for those of us who need a bit of a place to escape from the terrifying world around us. With what seems like the world falling apart, I thought it important to highlight a few different "E cards" that resonate with me on a deep level.

Irony isn't lost on everyone, and there is a place in it for everyone; whether you find yourself a chronic procrastinator, often anxious, or just a millennial, there is one for you.

1. Because we all need to get our fruits from somewhere

We've all been guilty of the mid-week splurge - sometimes an exam, a project, that kid from your History class, or the downfall of America can get you pretty stressed out. When that happens, sometimes fruit salad is the best way to go when you feel uneasy.

2. You're not you when you're hungry

The term "hangry" is, aside from sporks, one of the most perfect inventions ever. Sometimes, when we've had a particularly busy day, if at work or of classes, eating often becomes the last priority when we have obligations or work to complete. Unfortunately, it's like the snickers commercial; when I don't eat, I can get pretty grumpy.

3. Anxiety is fun

Anxiety is like that one thing you want to go away but it always taunts you still. If we could think of a list of problems, triangulating and the made up scenarios we make in our heads due to anxiety can be a pretty big reason why things may be feeling pretty problematic.

4. Oh...

Ironically, I felt pretty prepared before I began writing this. Nonetheless, it's always fun to laugh at yourself once in a while to lighten the mood.

5. Food service and retail sucks

Having worked overnight shifts for a while, shift changes suck. Between things not being able to be done on time because we were busy, things being over/under ordered (See Also: Truck Restocking), or it not being 100% spotless when a shift changes, it's impossible to make everybody happy. Nonetheless, being on shift when it changes, regardless of what shift you may be on, sucks for everyone, because there's not always a concrete way to pinpoint who may be responsible for this/that being done, everyone gets mad. James may have been the person who was on the deployment to do prep, but Jess decided to call out, so he had to be called elsewhere to something important.

6. I feel you

"There's always next election." Uhhh.....

7. A sailor's mouth

Because a little colorful language never hurt anyone.

8. Too soon.

This happened a day ago. Let's all listen to soundtracks in his memory.

9. I never got one.

Alright, I'll be honest. Who doesn't love stickers? Sadly, by voting absentee, I did not get one. Maybe next time.

10. I'm exercising so you know I am

We all have that one friend that religiously Snaps and Instagrams their latest workouts, their new paleo smoothies, or their grain bowls they just made.

11. "lmao"

Chances are, it's likely not as funny as they're making it seem like it is. But, it's the thought that counts.

12. We're all getting older

Sadly, we're all getting older. Whether we like it or not, the time keeps on ticking.

13. Good morning! Isn't it your bedtime ?

I have a flexible sleep schedule of going to bed anywhere between 9 pm and 4 am. There are no limits to how long I allow myself to stay in bed, however.

14. Happy Earth Day!

Let's all hope the next 4 years are good for the environment....

15. First day at the new job..

Not even the first day. Nothing ruins a day more than walking into work and the proverbial world being on fire.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
