We can't escape it. It's taken over the news and it's all over social media. Those who we once considered friends are now blocked or muted because of it. The presidential election. Lately, it's been impossible to log on to any social media, Twitter especially, without seeing a Donald Trump meme or the hashtag "ImWithHer." So take a scroll through your most recent tweets and if more than five of them are about who you're voting for or you're political beliefs then this is something that I urge you to consider. Here are all of the things that you could be tweeting about instead of the presidential election.
1. Dogs
I very strongly suggest that you consider this one. Tweet funny stories about your dogs or, even better, post pictures of them. Please.
2. What you're watching on Netflix
Everybody could use some good Netflix suggestions.
3. Peanut Butter
I'm worried that peanut butter doesn't get the respect it deserves. The least we can do is give it a shoutout on Twitter every once and a while.
4. A recipe for beef stew
Valuable information. 10/10 recommend.
5. Your favorite pair of socks
Tell me about the best brands. What are the kids wearing these days?
6. The second season of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Coming to Netflix April 15! It's a miracle!
7. An inspirational quote
"If you're a bird I'm a bird."
8. Dogs
There is never a wrong time to talk about dogs. Do it all the time! Everyday!
9. Your favorite childhood memory
So young, so naive.
10. Your deepest, darkest secrets
Let it all out.
11. The weather
Classic conversation starter. Let's get the ball rolling, folks!
12. Chace Crawford
AKA Nate from Gossip Girl. He's way too attractive to not be talked about at least three times a week.
13. Shrek
A Pixar classic. If you don't like Shrek you at least have to like the Shrek soundtrack (and also you do like Shrek; you're wrong about not liking it).
14. The 90's
Aaron Carter and denim everything.
15. Puberty
Find a new hair? Starting to get acne? Excellent! Tell me all about it.
Obviously, there's nothing wrong with stating your opinion; however, it becomes a little much when I see it every time I log on to my social media accounts. So next time you open your Twitter app keep this list in mind and tweet about anything but political content.
