1.Make a campfire
Summer is the best time to sit around a fire, sing songs and hang out with friends. But most importantly, to make s’mores.
2. Go on a new hike
Finding new trails to hike is one of my favorite activities to do. Whether it is finding a new waterfall or hiking to a mountain lake, there are new adventures just waiting to be discovered.
3. Volunteer
Donating your time to a worthy cause is a great way to spend some time this summer. It can be anywhere from playing with animals at the local rescue shelter to answering phone calls at a phone-a-thon.
4. Go to a Saturday market
Saturday Markets are an adventure all on their own. The purchasing options are unlimited, with people selling items like food, art, produce, jewelry and everything in between.
5. Road trip to the next state
Whether you plan a day trip or you drive across the border and immediately make a U-turn, it is a fun adventure to take with friends and one more idea to do this summer.
6. Buy a plant
Plants are great to have in the house. They provide oxygen and can make great accents for any space. Succulents or cacti are great summer plants because they need little care and they look do not attract as many bugs.
7.Stargaze
Stargazing is a beautiful way to spend time over the summer. Plus, with a comfy blanket and a cute significant other, it can make for a great date too.
8. Build a blanket fort
There is nothing quite like building a blanket fort to make you feel like a kid again. You can even design a pretty sweet set-up and watch movies in there all day long while you resent the idea of growing up.
9. Read a book
A good book is a great way to spend a few days this summer. Whatever genre you prefer, getting lost in a novel can help you escape the summer heat.
10. Have a water fight
Speaking of summer heat, a water fight is another way to cool down and have some fun with friends. Balloons, water shooters and pitchers are great ammunition for the battle ahead of you.
11. Learn something new
Even though school is out, you do not have to stop learning. Spend this summer learning something that you actually want to know more about, and you do not have to be indoors either!
12. Go to a shave ice shack
Shave ice (not snow cones) are what I wait all year for until summer hits. The thin ice and the sweet syrup are a beautiful combination and if you can get sweet and condensed milk drizzled over top, I highly suggest you do so.
13. Go to the nearest theme park
Because, why not?
14. Use disposable cameras all summer long
Developing all the cameras from the summer in September is a great way to be surprised and have a summer to remember. The pictures will be unedited and pure which is refreshing in the technological world we live in.
15. Have fun!
The most important part of summer is to have fun. Summer is full of longer days and longer nights and it is easy to make sure that each one counts. Each day should be an adventure and your summer can be one you’ll never forget.
