Starbucks has become my go to hangout spot and I often find myself there more than anywhere else, well besides my dorm room. It has become the place to do homework, talk with friends, and listen to relaxing music. I've recently come to realize that I'm slightly obsessed and maybe even addicted to Starbucks and here are fifteen signs that you are too.
1. You're already a gold member until the year of 2018
Your gold status only goes two years in advance so you receive the notification that you are gold for another year and then realize that it's still the same year you got a notification for earlier.
2. You get a free drink within 2-3 weeks
Being a gold member means that you get a free drink every 12 drinks and it doesn't take you very long to reach that lucky dozen as Starbucks would call it.
3. Whenever your Mom sends you a gift card, it's Starbucks
Mom, thank you for realizing that I don't have the money to feed my Starbucks obsession.
4. You recognize the background of Starbucks in someone else's Snapchat story
The aesthetic and décor of Starbucks is so recognizable that you feel slightly jealous when someone else is there and you're not.
5. Multiple baristas know your name
They don't even have to ask for your name anymore because the recognize you the second you walk in and you're often greeted with excitement.
6. Said baristas also know your drink order
Thank you for still making me a Salted Caramel Mocha, even though it's a fall drink and it's currently the middle of March.
7. You have gone there multiple times in one day
Yes, I am not afraid to admit that I have done this on several occasions.
8. The new reward system doesn't bother you because you know you'll still spend money there
At first I was a little upset, but after about five minutes I realized that I was still going to go there.
9. You often find yourself saying "I haven't been to Starbucks in so long" when you were just there 2 days ago
On Tuesdays, I find myself saying this after going to Starbucks over the weekend and realizing that I haven't gone since then.
10. Every road trip requires Starbucks
Starbucks is the perfect drink for any road trip (no matter the length).

Who doesn't love shopping with a Starbucks coffee in hand?
12. Whenever you drive past a Starbucks, you get excited and are tempted to stop
Seeing a Starbucks in a new place is so exciting and I know I'll be able to get my favorite drink there.
13. You brave the cold and snow to walk the 13 minutes to Starbucks
Yes, I have walked to Starbucks in 20 degree weather while it was snowing before.
14. You can't properly function without it
I always have to have a Starbucks in hand in order to finish whatever textbook I'm reading.

It's my home away from home.
