15 Signs That You're From Syracuse

Syracuse is the place you love to hate and hate to love. We bleed orange once a year for March Madness, live in the Carrier Dome during basketball season and live next to one of the most polluted lakes. We have Wegmans, Pastabilities and of course, Armory Square. If you're a native 'Cuse, these are the 15 signs that give away where you're from.

1. You are fully prepared for it to be 30 degrees in June and 70 degrees in March.

At this point, you don't even question mother nature and just have your winter boots ready at any given time during the year.

2. You looked forward to the last two weeks of August because the New York State fair will back. .

You can people watch like no other time, drink as many $.25 cent chocolate milks that you want and get drunk off of wine slushies.

3. You still call Destiny U.S.A "Carousel Center".

If you're a native 'Cuse, you will always refer to Destiny U.S.A as "Carousel Center", and the renovated part and new stores will always be the "new part".

4.You are used to Tipp Hill's upside down stop light.

And look forward to midnight of St. Patrick's Day to see the giant four leaf clover being painted underneath the stop light.

5. You get anxiety if someone want's to go grocery shopping anywhere other than Wegmans.

You know that there is no better place to get a sub or fresh fruit.

6. Summer is all about getting as many ice creams as possible from Big Dip.

7. Light's on the Lake is your favorite thing to do during the Christmas Season.

And you know that the one night they allow people to walk through it, that every single person you know will be there with their dogs freezing their you know what's off.

8. You no longer question the little house on top of the old factory when you drive through downtown Syracuse, you just accept it.

It's been in Syracuse longer than you have and you have no right to question it's existence.

9. No matter if you are a basketball fan or not, you bleed orange during March Madness.

10. You can't get enough of Pastabilites spicy tomato oil.

And even though they sell it at Wegmans now, you know it doesn't compare to being at the restaurant and getting it fresh.

11. Your friends from out of town can't wait to come to Syracuse and get their hands on a plate of Tully's Tenders.

12. You love to go bike riding, roller skating and walk your dog in Onondaga Park even though it's one of the most polluted lakes in America.

13. There's not much to do in Syracuse over the summer, so you chase waterfalls like it's your job.

14. Whenever someone says "it's huge" you automatically think of one person.

15. Even though you don't go to SU or know anyone that goes to SU, you own an infinite amount of SU clothing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
