We all have that one friend. No one else compares to that special friend that you've known since you came out of the womb. You could meet a million other people throughout the years, and maybe even become close with a few, but no one will ever know you as well as the one who has been there from the start. Those friends that we have known forever are truly rare human beings, and ones who we should truly appreciate and cherish. Here are a few reasons why no one is just like your very first best friend.
1. They tell it how it is.
Since they want what's best for you, they're not afraid to be brutally honest. They will tell you if they don't like your outfit or if they don't think the guy you're interested in is any good.
2. They've grown up with you.
They were there when you went on your first date, got your license, and graduated, and even took a sip of your first glass of wine.
3. They're the reason you have pictures to post for #tbt.
You have a billion photographs with them from vacations, play dates, first days of school and dance recitals. Of course, most of them are embarrassing, but some are cute enough to post on Instagram.
4. Their family is your family.
Their mom, dad and siblings have seen you grow up and have been in your life as long as your friend has.
5. Their clothes, food, etc. is also yours.
They let you borrow whatever you want whenever you want.
6. No fight will ever be worth throwing the friendship away.
Regardless of what the fight is about, you both know it isn't worth losing each other.
7. They're like your brother and sister.
Just because you're so close to each other, you basically act like siblings, but you aren't stuck living with them... which is probably a good thing.
8. They are super trustworthy.
They know all your secrets, embarrassing moments, weaknesses and all the things no one else knows about you, and they will never tell a soul.
9. No matter how long you go without talking or seeing each other, when you get together, you realize nothing changed.
It's like you never left each other's side.
10. You can talk to them all about all those fun childhood memories.
They recall playing outside for hours during the summer. They also remember 2nd grade, when your desks were next to each other.
11. They would travel any distance and answer the phone whenever for you.
No matter if you're four hours away or you call at 2 a.m., your friend would be there in a heartbeat.
12. They're the reason you already have plans set in place for the future.
You both made a pact to be each other's maid of honor or best man and to live next to each other for the rest of your life.
13. They know exactly how to handle any situation you are put in.
They always seem to have it together and can help you deal with break ups, fights with your parents or any other issues you face.
14. Your connection to them is unlike any other relationship you have with any other person.
They are the friend who truly understands you and what you're going through in your life. They are there for everything, good or bad. They are the one you feel comfortable pouring your heart out to, and that is something special.
15. They love you unconditionally.
They will be your friend, no matter what.
