Great things on small campuses.

15 Reasons Why I Love My Small Liberal Arts College

Hidden beyond the massive Big 10 universities lie the smaller yet elite colleges more known for their academic content. Here are 15 reasons why I love going to a small liberal arts college.

1. It takes less than five minutes to get across campus.

Even though we all may complain about having to walk from class to class in bad weather or up steep hills, we're all still pretty grateful that the walk is as short as it is.

2. All your professors know you by name.

There's something comforting about going to class and knowing that the professor actually took the time to memorize all of the students' names.

3. You know practically everyone in your major, and even in your grade.

Walking into class on the first day of the semester is never an issue, seeing that you'll more than likely know at least one person in the class.

4. The class sizes are never more than 25, and sometimes it can be as small as five people.

Such a small class size makes it so much less intimidating.

5. There are so many clubs to join.

From the sailboat club to the accounting club, your school has any club you can imagine. No excuses to be bored here!

6. If you go to a sporting event, there is almost always a guaranteed free T-shirt giveaway.

Let's face it -- the only reason some of us attend those events is specifically for the free t-shirt.

7. You know the cafeteria cooks by name.

Its always nice to know the lady cooking your meals when you're away from home on a first-name basis.

8. You have to be extra careful when walking between classes not to be hit by a Frisbee.

Ultimate Frisbee is a serious thing.

9. Even though your school is so small, there are still classmates from all over the world.

From Japan, Russia, South Korea and China, there is always someone from a different country in your class.

10. People aren't afraid to speak in class.

Knowing your classmates and professors makes it easier to speak your mind in class, adding to the whole learning experience.

11. You've been to the president's house for at least one occasion.

The college president is far from a stranger to the students.

12. Whenever there is a band or a comedian performing, you can be sure that there will be flyers all across campus.

There are seriously no excuses to be bored here.

13. You always know where to find everyone in the dining hall.

Basically every group has their own table for every meal, every day.

14. Want to skip class? Better send in a really good excuse.

Chances are, your professor will definitely notice your absence. And if they don't? They will definitely be reminded when they bump into you in the dining hall later.

15. Basically no one has ever heard of your school.

But you don't regret your choice or the friends and memories made. And if given the choice, you would definitely do it all over again.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
