15 Reasons You Know You're An Upperclassmen

Staying out late is fun when you have minimal responsibilities. However, something terrible happens when you get over the freshman year hump of being a nonstop "party animal" and get to cracking down on the books. You no longer have gen-eds to consume your class schedule and were forced to take an 8:00 a.m. this semester in order to graduate on time. Unfortunately, this means the unimaginable... you start to become a real life adult. And while many of your friends may be out on a Tuesday night, you don't really mind sitting in a coffee shop applying for next summer's internship or your future job. Because while your friends are meeting a bunch of attractive Fraternity men, you find pleasure in knowing that you are making your own path and becoming a responsible young adult. And let's face it, you knew this day was coming at some point or another. Cheers to the best four years!

1. You no longer have FOMO (fear of missing out) when you miss a party on Saturday night.

2. Watching movies and eating ice cream with your roommate sounds like a lot more fun than a crowded frat party.

3. You laugh at freshman who are pounding back the shots of Skol they brought to your pregame while you sip on a mixed drink.

4. And if mono freshman year taught you one thing, it's to take a drink with you.

5. You feel it is not appropriate to wear last night's makeup to class with a fraternity/sorority t-shirt to class.

6. Instead, you actually flat iron your hair for class and the occasional put together an outfit. Okay... so maybe just once a week.

7. When you see your "little" and her friends out you fight the urge to be the motherly "big" within you.

8. You have realized that the freshman fifteen and sorority forty are all too real. You've swapped your pizza for a not so delicious chopped salad.

9. It's Friday and you hear girls raving about a foam party. You can't help but start singing Hanna Montana in your head.

10. Instead of attending the foam party, you find your roommate putting on a documentary about Chipotle.

11. You see a bunch of students on campus you don't recognize.

12. You have to give yourself pep talks on graduating in less than a year or two.

13. You are actually concerned about whether or not you will make it in the real world.

14. When people ask you if you are excited to be an upperclassman...

15. And while graduation is inevitable, you decide to savor every minute of your undergrad career.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
